I prefer the Meridian area, have kids that will swim at the YMCA on N Explorer Way.

Hi. Have you tried using the "Research and Compare" feature on the green menu bar near the top of this page? There is also a "Local Q&A" section where you can post questions, although I should mention that Greatschools is a nationwide forum, and chances are slim that someone from a particular town with children the same ages as yours will respond...16012

Hi- I know this was a while ago that you wrote your answer, but perhaps this will help another who reads this page. I would highly recommend North Junior High and Boise High School. They aren't the closest schools to the West YMCA, but education is priceless and it truly is only a 15 min drive to the Y from Boise High. Also there is the Y downtown right across the street from Boise High.
I attended both North and Boise High and have nothing but fantastic things to say about them. The faculty is top notch and they prepared me well for college and beyond (I am now attending grad school.) The caliber of friends I met while attending was phenomenal and I would highly encourage you to visit the schools and talk with the admissions group at the schools.
I wish you luck with you move and as someone who grew up and attending Boise's schools I can say I have been well educated not only in academia, but also in character, by the value of the people in lovely Boise. Good luck! :)16011
