The teachers at Thirkill Elementary have been of great assistance in helping to keep my children on track, especially after being behind when we transferred to the school at the end of last year. The counselor was very helpful when it came to dealing with adjustment issues to the new school. While I would have liked to see some additional extra-curricular programs, the school does supplement the regular curriculum with fun programs such as the Fun Run (which is raising money to help ensure the kids next year will be able to have the end of year fieldtrips), the bike relay, class parties, and some fun fieldtrips over the year. The thing I find most inspiring about Thirkill Elementary is with all the budget cuts, the staff still try to make the school more than just a place to go learn.
