Metea offers a variety of classes, clubs, and sports. The facility itself is great in all aspects from the state of the art library to the elite weight rooms. The teachers have a passion for what they do and are always willing to help students out. It gives a good aspect into life because although there are many drug users, some whom I personally know, there is opportunity as long as you surround yourself with the right group and apply yourself to the work. The school is very diverse and you can see many races in all of your classes. The sports teams have good facilities and coaching staff but just lack talent. In general, Metea is a great school that although may seem challenging at first, it will prepare you for the long run.

The best school ever, the school really knows what they are doing, they make sure every student is on top of their game. They have a very good sport program and they also have a great gifted or honors program. I am very glad my student goes here. I used to live in California, Texas and Indiana and the education given in district 204 is just amazing. GO MUSTANGS!!!!!

School is ok you gotta work hard to succeed in life kids who go to school here don't seem to realize that lots of spoiled kids who go on to be losers. Test scores are high cause of high number of Indian students who actually apply themselves, drugs are common, sports facilities are nice but teams suck due to lack of talent. Overall average school once you get past the hype and status of the area.

Besides the outstanding metrics of test scores, etc. a quick mention that Metea's music program is unsurpassed! I am so happy my daughter started in 5th grade! back at Brooks Elem, carried on at Granger. Thanks to the music foundation that is well supported and deeply ingrained in the culture of Metea and District 204. You don't even realize how lucky we are until you start comparing and find out that Orchestra is not even offered in close neighboring cities.

This school is new and even though there were unknowns, it has met the expectations of being one of the best schools in the state. Along with Academics, the sports facilities and orchestra/band facilities are excellent too. We specifically moved to the area to get our kids to go to Metea Valley High School !! Pretty satisfied :-)

Newest HS in the Western suburbs opened in August 2009. Everything new! That's great. PTA is lead by experienced parents and has plenty of opportunities for volunteers to get involved (hence my 4 rating, though I'm sure as they continue to ramp up, will be a 5) Excellent staff and sports complex. Lots of honors/AP classes. However, class sizes still run fairly high throughout IPSD204 IMHO.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Illinois used the Prairie State Achievement Examination (PSAE) to test students in grade 11 in reading, math and science. The PSAE is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Illinois. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
