It's a great looking school on the outside. Once you're inside, the reality is frightening. Students are walking around the halls throughout the day. Teachers allow disrespectful behaviors and mediocrity. The students get away with murder. Students are not disciplined and they know it. Many parents are not involved in THEIR children's education. Administration tries to cover this all up.

The teachers try to help you to improve your grade and keep in touch with the parent(s) as much as possible. There is variety of activities here and it is clean. Although there is too many fights and not enough disciplinary action for it. And they try to help you succeed. Trust me i know as a student.

I went to Burr Ridge Middle School, or better know as BRMS. When I first got there, I thought it was a very amazing school. With all it's good academic value and sports, but all the pointless drama and fights over come that. The teachers never really listen and are blind sighted most of the time.Sometimes you forget all the bad points of the school, and enjoy the fun moments with the students and teachers. The teachers are the best, and the memoirs you will never forget. The school may have it's problems, but over all you will experience so much at BRMS.

People are disrespecting teachers. The teachers givge out punishment that is innapropriate for the situation and the students don't learn a lesson. They continue to disrupt the classes and not follow directions properly.

I must totally agree with the second parent's comment. The school is trying to deal with the burden of the heavy diversity and the consequent problems in a no sense way.

Thought the ranking was a 7 I must admit Burr Ridge is a great middle school. My 2 sons whom attend have totally did a 360 in academics. I has made the honor roll and continues to roll in the A's. They really work with your student and the interaction via email is outstanding for me. Parents are able to review the kids grades online on every subject. This allows you to keep up with there work ethic and find any missing assignments. I personally think the rating should be higher though a good number of parents aren't participating in there child future success.

The principal is completely incompetent and doles out punishment in a totally arbitrary manner. Then, to make matters worse, you have a 'rubber stamp' school board that couldn't create an original thought if their lives depended on it. This school is Highly overrated. A beautiful school on the outside but an abysmal failure on the inside. We've been in this school system for 7 years and it just gets worse as time goes on. Thank goodness this will be our final year.
