this school is ridiculous with there disciplane they need to focus on there job of scholastics .they have a problem with focus.this school is a joke.take your child to pierce downer if possible.
Great school with teachers who go the extra mile for their students. Our two children (second grade and kindergarten) love it.
Highland has many good attributes. The office staff is very helpful and patient. They have half day kindergarten. It's a very small school, therefore the children all know each other. And the staff is familiar with all the students as well. My children were new last year, but have always felt welcomed and never want to leave. There is not a cafeteria, therefore you must pack lunch everyday. There isn't P.E. for kinder. Parking isn't fun on days where there is a special program at the school. Drop off and pick up are pretty easy though. There isn't bus service if you live nearby. It's a 15-20 minute walk for my children. Which is difficult for my younger children, and if you have little ones still at home, it can be very inconvenient. The teachers make adjustments for different levels in academics. They have always been friendly and caring toward my children.
Highland School has a wonderful staff! Everyone is great, the teachers, Principal and front office. I went to Highland, my children did and now my grandson does! In the 45 years I have been associated with the school it has always exceled on all levels!
I am disappointed with this school. Academically the school is behind. The curriculum is not challenging. They should channel their curriculum to cater to average and gifted kids.
I have had 6th, 5th, 1st, and K children over a period of 7yrs at Highland. The overall quality of the school is high because of the quality people involved (parents and teachers). The physical condition of the school adequate. Both the principals over this time operated under a framework that support and achievement work hand in hand. Diversity is respected.
I absolutely love Highland school. The teachers are great with the kids and are very good. Everyone is very nice. My 6th grade daughter loves all the teachers she's had. She never wants to leave that school. Its just a great school.
My 1st grader and 2nd grader have attended Highland Elem. since kindergarten. It's a small school with great community atmosphere where parents and teachers work with every student. A great place for learning and making friends.
