Presently I have three (3) children attending Grant and I am very satisfied with the agressive approach in teaching techniques. My oldest, who is in her last year, is a high honor roll student with a grade point of 4.6. While I am satisfied with her achievement I am concerned with the lack of minority representation at the teacher level. Over the past 15 years I have witnessed an ever increasing number of minorities moving into the area and I am concerned about how well they can adapt. I wonder what is being done to address this potential problem.

i believe the school academics have really been lost over the years. my oldest child did very well and was ahead of most his age. my other 2 are not nearly as advanced as my eldest.

Academically, the school is tops. The students are challenged mentally. The only drawback is the lack of minority presence within the faculty and administration. They let go of the only full-time minority teacher they had and the show of discipline towards minority students has increased since. A lot of minority students are being disciplined more I believe due to the lack of adult minority presence in the staff. They have no mentors or any role models to look up to for proper guidance. I feel that a lot of them will fall through the cracks due to lack of concern and representation for them.

My child has excelled and is ahead of most students at her grade-level. I just wished the racial profile of teachers were greater. They only have one black teacher at the school and they are trying to send her to the elementary level. All of the students like her and says she gives them not only a high quality education but she cares about the students well-being outside the classroom. The advance classes that are offered at the school are excellent. I truly believe this is a school that promotes academic progress and is a great place for learning. I recommend it to all. They just need to represent more cultures as far as teachers.
