i went to this school last year and it was just amazing i mean all of the teachers teach above and beyond i mean you wont belive how good it is. and the staff and principal is just wonderful i coulnt have asked for a better staff. the teachers my old teacher, mrs.tedeschi was just outstanding im doing stuff in sixth grade we learned at the beginning of fifth. i have no more to say but keep it up. this school is my home not my school its not just a school in the community it is the community thank you for four years of great learning.
My son completed the 5th grade at Marya Yates this year, and our experience with the school was absolutely wonderful! He was in the high math and reading classes, and it's unbelievable how much he learned. His math teacher Mrs. Robinson went well beyond the regular 5th grade curriculum, and taught the children math concepts such as Algebra that you'd learn in higher grades. His reading teacher Mrs. Tedeschi took her class to a higher level also with the types of reading and vocabulary assignments she gave. It was amazing! I can't even begin to put into words how terrific his language arts/writing/science/social studies teacher Ms. Gordon was! She was nurturing and encouraging, and made learning so much fun for her class. She raised the bar and brought out the best in my child! These are just examples of the excellent teachers you'll find at Marya Yates, a 5 star school!
I can not say enough about this school. The teachers are great. I never had to wonder about my childs progress. I was always well informed. Ms. Woods is a terrific principal and is very approachable. I am looking forward to another terrific year!
My experience at this school has been wonderful. My son's teacher did a great job of keeping me informed on his progress throughout the year. He actually looks forward to going everyday. Kudos to the staff. Keep up the good work!
My children attended this school during their 2nd year in the Early Childhood program so I am only speaking from that perspective. Compared to their 1st year in the program at a different school, the classroom was a huge improvement. Large, bright, plenty of room to move and set up lots of activity stations. The school itself is nice and clean, the PTO is very active and from what I could tell, they didn't have problems with parents volunteering. My children's teacher and her aides were wonderful. I hope the program will have a permanent home at Marya Yates.
Marya Yates is an excellent school to send your children. It is also a fun learning atmosphere you want to send your children where they won't lose the standards in which you have instilled in your child. Of course discipline is practiced from the time you leave your child until he/she returns home. All teachers and staff are there for needed attention. Principal is also available if you desire to meet with her. Marya Yates is one of the few schools where your child will not loose their sense of worth.
The Marya Yates Elementary school is an excellent school. My son has attended sense kindergarten through 8th grade and loves it. The teachers actually care about the students and the Principal and the Dean of students are no nonsense. This helps to keep the environment healthy for learning. There are many choices in extra-curricular activates such as band, Gifted art, Chorus, cross country, volleyball, basketball, newspaper staff, and more!! Also if your child does choose to be involved in these activates, he/she will get to interact with other students in the district. The PTO. at the schools has had many fuctions that keep parents involved as well. Marya Yates is not just a school , But a Community
