Not sure on that one. I know they have a program in place.

If your child has any type of learning difference, you need to send them to public school. Please do not send them here.

Effective school leaders: Strongly disagree

The principal is never available. The vice principal is nice any always available, but does not have any authority. The Board Members are all from the same community.

Develops character: Neutral

Even on this level, I am going to say that the school teaches a lot of great things about Islam but it does not teach kids about respecting those who are not Muslim and that is difficult in the US in the advent of a Trump presidency.

Teacher effectiveness: Neutral

Some of the teachers are fantastic and the rest of not....

Amount of homework: Disagree

Way too much homework is given in the early grades and it does not increase comprehension or test scores. More needs to be done at the classroom level.

I truly hate to give only two stars, but I must. Those stars are for a few of the excellent teachers at the school. They are deserving of the stars; however, the administration is not at all inspirational or responsive, unless you are a part of a small caste of families from a certain part of India (yes, I use the work caste, even though this is a Muslim school and Islam teaches that we are all equal). I agree with the previous parent. If you live in any of the north suburban school districts, save your money, send your child to weekend religious classes and/or hire a private Qua'ran teacher.

Students are NOT tested/placed into appropriate grade levels or privided proper resources. Some teachers are NOT good - they should be reviewed and probably replaced. Administration lacks control/professionalism - parents run the show and administration caves into their demands due to a lack of control and fear of retaliation. If you are well connected in the community, or plan to donate to the school and prefer being a big fish in a small pond, this school will cater to you. Especially if you have the Principals and the Vice-principal's cell phone numbers, just drop them a text and your kids will always end up with the handful of good teachers. This is a sad but true fact. If you are an average, hardworking, middle class member of this community, especially if you are not well connected, you will be held to a different set of rules. You should send your kids to a public school and hire a strong Quran teacher. You will not be treated fairly at this school. The school does provide an Islamic environment that is heathy and wholesome, but unfortunately it lacks in all other areas. They need to make big changes, but that is highly unlikely anytime soon.

I joined MCC recently. What I like more about the school is the safety. I don't have to worry about drugs or gangs, or even sex abuse. I love that every parent cares for other kids as if they were his own kids. The principal and the teachers are awesome. Academically my kids are doing well. I wish the best to our kids and all the stuff.
