Like most schools, there are great things happening at MTVHS, such as its drama group, music department, and sports teams. However, the school has the poorest ran special education department that I have ever witnessed. There is little to no communication between staff members and parents. If your child receives any type of special education services, I would advise you to try to find a better school.

My time has been up and down at MVTHS. Their are honestly some teachers who do not care one bit, just putting in their time, and there are some that are working hard to help students and prepare them for a bright future. I think the school is to busy doing other things to make sure the teachers are positive, ready to work, caring people. Alot of athletic students are treated differently by teachers and coaches and their seems to be some racial differences in disipline in some class rooms. The buildings are falling apart.

MVTHS has it's ups and downs. There are very excellent teachers there, but at the same time there are also teachers who...shouldn't be. They are centered more in their sports programs and pep assemblies than their academic department. The football team has new uniforms but the library is falling apart. They are cutting back on as many creative english, art, music, and langauge classes as they can. Leaving students with the basics and nothing else to grow with. MVTHS is actually holding students with great potential back. It has the potential to be an excellent school but needs someone with a good mind to lead it in the direction. Parent involvement past sports is limited. If only one could transport the handful of good teachers into a new building.

My daughter transfereed here from another school shge was put in a specail ed class with kids that were doing 3rd grade work! the teachers do not care if she can do higher work they do not even try to put her in higher classes no matter what we have done. Now I have to file due process against them for the no child left behind act and for her to be in different classes. I wish we never moved here it has been a nightmare!
