Grateful to: Teacher

First and upmost, our son. Because inspite all that has happen to him this year, he still work hard and give it his best no matter what. He don't stop trying. Wow, I don't know how to choose just one teacher, or the nurse or other staff members, because each and every one of them have brought so much onto our son's life. We always feel that we can contact them at anytime about our son education. They do their best to be fair. I can testify that when a student truly work hard, they don't grade harshly if he or she is a point or two from the next letter. They take all that constant hard work into consideration. To me, this is what makes a great humanly educator. We truly LOVE our teachers.

Teacher effectiveness: Very effective

OMG, our kids are very fortunate, because we have such super teachers in our district. Thank to all the teachers for choosing this district, for choosing this field, and for loving and taking care of our kids even when we cannot. For never giving up on each and every student, for seeing their potentials, known how to pull out what are hidden deep inside by experienced educators. This is what our teachers do.

Amount of homework: Just right
November 19, 2015
Some years homework been worse than others, but I can happily say it's not to bad this year. Yeah!!! Why I am saying yeah!!! I strongly feel that some nights students need to come home and be able to meditate on what they learned at school that day. They need to freely relax, unwind, and enjoy reading a good book without rushing through that book. Or having so much homework that they don't have time to "stop and smell the roses."

Don't get me wrong, my husband and I feel very fortunately that our son been able to attend such great schools here in orland park. However, I cannot just say, in all honesty, that just this great school produced persistence, grit, and determination in the jerling students. I am happy to say that this school continue to instill these skills in our kids, and for the most part, they wear them well.

Jerling not only teaches this word R-E-S-P-E-C-T , but they put the R in respect. I think this says it all.

Overall, Jerling have great kids. I don't know of, or have came in contact with any kids there I would not be proud to call my own. In other words, Jerling parents are proud of our kids. Thanks to the faculty that not only continue to educate our kids, but they help parent our kids during the time our students are in their care.

We hear the saying, "kids will be kids." True, however, not only have I seen my son, but I've seen other students grow throughout the years. Each time I visit Jerling Jr High, I am proud to say the students are polite and respectful to any adult they come in contact with. They hold the door open for you. Yet. They are loyal to their friebds. Ive seen students help assist with heavy loads. And appears to obey the school rules with a smile. Who can ask for more?

My husband and I feels fortunately that our son attends a school that employs teachers, staff, principal and assistance principal that attend school daily not just to get a paycheck. Instead. They stribe to produce great teachers, doctors, lawyers, judges, president the list goes on and on. Guess what? The students get it!

Parents should know that if you have a typical learner they can do well at Jerling. There are some great teachers here(about half) but there are also too many inadequate and unmotivated teachers that don't seem to enjoy teaching. They do little to inspire young minds and if you have a student that struggles in any capacity they will have a hard time. Generally speaking, the newer teachers are better. Bullying is a problem and little is done to deter it or protect victims.
