Academy north is very poor at academically teaching children. These kids that graduate are under educated and some of them are at an 8th grade level of knowledge yet they still pass them to get them out. The staff are ridiculous because they allow them to get away with everything. The officer there does nothing. He just stands around even when a kids are honory with staff or their parent. They are useless. These kids might have behavioral issues but if the staff were more strict and passed them because they deserved to pass tthe maybe these kids would obey and graduate at a 12th grade level than below what grade they are. Teachers take them out to bbq patio because they were good for a day. What are these kids 5 years old? It's really sad that these kids graduate below their year that they are suppose to be at. These kids will have no knowledge when they graduate and have little chance to succeed because they are babed and uneducated. What has this world come to!

This is a school for those that couldn't be in mainstream District 211 schools. It's supposed to prepare students with poor behavioral conduct for the future. Yet, I see many students who attend Academy North turn out worse. I really wish people with high patience thresholds would apply for these jobs. I've seen many special education teachers give up on their students, when all the kids really want is someone to believe in them; show them true compassion and understanding. The majority of these kids come from broken and abusive families. Also, some of the cops there act like total jerks. These are KIDS that need help, not pieces of trash that can be thrown away.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.
