My daughter attends Blackhawk and I cant wait for her to get out of there, because I cant afford to move to send her somewhere else. This year she got lucky and got of of their good teachers, but last year was a nightmare. The principal is lacking in compassion for students, and does not seem to have much control over anything.

My son attends Blackhawk, and he will be leaving because of the principal. It seems she does not have control of her students. I found my sons stories horrifying. She apparently does not know how to talk to the students.

My daughter went to blackhawk and now my son attends. So far he has had great teachers. His grades are mostly A's. he is in pep, choir, and band. he participated in the science fair and came in second place. I am a teacher myself and I don't get to go on many field trips but i go to all assemblies and meetings. Mrs. Boyd the principal is fantastic. I would recomend Blackhawk school to anyone. I am very happy!!!!

I have two children in Blackhawk I find some of the teachers quality to be very poor as far as getting the students to interact and involment to learn. Sometimes when they bring homework home I feel as if I should have got paid not the teacher. When a student does not have a cuel as to how to do homework .This Is A Problem. Principal is vage never has time never returns calls or answer letters. I pay very high taxes and this school has the worst books condition I have ever seen. A student in this district recd Math book in 4rd grade. The 1st 2nd and 3rd have sheets from a workbook making it diffvcuit for a parent or child to get lesson correct for homework.

I can only comment for this school year. I found it was no communication from school to parents. I found the Principal to be unfair. She will not admit her wrongness. The teachers and Principal do not address issues that needs to be address. She needs to involve the parents that are willing to assist. My son will not be going back. The school have put a bad taste in my mouth.

So far, I find Blackhawk to be fairly responsive to parents, thanks, in part, to the new principal, Mrs. Boyd. However, as most schools in this area, the programs are lacking, the teacher-student ratio is too high, and the overall behavior of the students is poor.

I have 2 children in this school. It's been a horrible 2 years so far. My son was beaten up an bullied all last year, and the administrative staff ignore our pleas for help. This year he has been getting in trouble, and his teacher instead of helping him chalked it off to laziness, and when i asked for help, I was told there were to many students in the classroom to give each private help. I hate this school. My son went from honor roll all years to F's and it makes me sick. We are now seeking a private school.

I have three children in this school district, and two kids that actually go to Blackhawk. I feel this is and excellent district. The teachers and principal are very caring. I moved here from another school district two years ago and I saw great improvement from this acemdically demanding school instantly. The staff in this district demand a lot from their students and parents but they also give a lot.

The school district of parkforest is a very good school district for your children to attend. my children have been at the district schools for preschool up until 5th grade so far. I have seen huge improvements in my children not only accidemically but as a person as well. The teachers take the extra time to help each student who needs the extra help.I would recommend that you enroll your childern in the district and you will see the same progress that I see in my children.
