The school is excellent. THe teachers are angels sent from above. My son and daughter are just so smart because of the teachers there. My kids just love the Lincoln Magnet School

This is the best middle school in Springfield and one of the best in the state. It regularly is the top school in the city in regards to ISAT scores and also is consistently well above state average scores on the ISAT. It has a small population (320-350) which allows the staff to get to know the students on a much more personal level. This may be more difficult for the much larger middle schools in town that have anywhere from 700-800 students. Lincoln prepares students to be highly successful when they move on to high school. Several former students have returned to visit and comment on how easy high school is compared to Lincoln.

It is a wonderful school. Yeah it may be a 'Smarty Pants School' but just think when your kids go to get a job or go to college they will look at their school grades and they will see what school they went to and if they see Lincoln magnet school they will really like that and hire you kid(s) or let them get into that college that they want. Lincoln gives kids the chance to work with technology and hands on stuff.

This school has been a big disappointment. It is probably fine for most kids, but our eighth grader needs accelerated learning opportunities which have not been available. Its outstanding music program dramatically deteriorated while my child was here, so that it is at best mediocre currently. The special advanced algebra class for 8th grade was cancelled just before he reached 8th grade, and the caliber of most of his English teachers has been shockingly poor. It has therefore given none of the advantages of a huge school, with all of the disadvantages. I can recommend it only in contrast to most of the other public schools in the district.

My daughter is in her third year at Lincoln Magnet and I would recommed this school to every parent out there. Yes, there is a lottery to be accepted into the school, but I encourage every parent that has a child in the 5th grade now to get an application filled out and get it to the school. The staff, teachers, and counselors are amazing! My daughter is also in the gifted program and I know she is being challenged to her full potential. Not only is the curriculum outstanding, the clubs and athletic groups are fantastic! This is definitely an A+ school!
