There is little to no challenge at this school whatsoever. The extracullicular activities are EXTREMELY limited, they have boys/girls basketball & baseball/softball. They also have girls volleyball. There are NO fine arts at all. The only foreign language is Spanish, and the teacher teaches at an extremely slow pace. Theis state scores are TOO low, and it's a wonder that the rating system gave them a 4. They have very little student/parent-school interaction, and the students can be punished for next to anything. I'm a student, so take it from me, it's not worth you child's time, Massac isn't far, and neither is Meridian. I would definitely send my kids to one of the others, instead of putting them through what I go through.

The ISAT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Illinois. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

In 2013 the Illinois State Board of Education raised the performance expectations for the ISAT in reading and math. These expectations have been adjusted to better align with the Common Core State Standards, a multi-state initiative that established year-by-year guidelines outlining the grade-specific skills and content students need to stay on the path to college and career readiness. The higher expectations of the new standards will result in a downward shift of where students rank in meeting or exceeding standards.
