I have a son who just completed the 6th grade last year, and another son going into the 6th grade this year. I can honestly say, the teachers on the Stellar team are Stellar teachers! My oldest son has attention deficient issues and with much interest and involvement on my part, and that of his teachers, the teachers and I worked "closely" to keep my son on task. He was been on Honor Roll the entire school year. I would NOT want to take my kids out of UMS as they receive the academic support that I've come to expect and appreciate. Special kudos to Ms. Welch, Ms. Frye and Ms. Jackson. Teachers with tough expectations, but they work with students to meet these expectations. You're the greatest!!!

We just moved here from a smaller district in the area, and we were very nervous about such a large school. Our son's seventh grade year just finished, and it was wonderful. We can't imagine being any place else at this point. UMS definitely deserves a better reputation.

A great school district where the teachers and administration really work toward building close personal relationships with the students. I feel that the teachers really know and take ownership of my daughter.

We are so unhappy with this school. If at all possible don't move into this district with students older than elementary school age. Don't believe what the school board and administrators tell you about how much this school has improved. It deserves the poor reputation it has enjoyed with locals for several years.

I attended this school in 6th and 7th grade and loved it! The teachers were great at explaining everingthing so it was easy to understand. They were very devoted to their teaching. They also did just the right amount of dicipline. Finally, the sports were so fun! I ran track and cross country and it was the best thing I ever did! The coaches did everything they could to help you suceed. I always looked forward to running afters school! The school was amazing and I wish I never had to move away.

This school is confusing about everything. I don't feel they allow the kids much learning time. They don't seem to be very helpful with homework assignments or expectations. They put way too much responsibility on the children and parents and not enough on the teachers.
