This is an all-girls private school with a student to teach ratio of about 7 or 8 to 1. The staff is very dedicated and highly motivated. Parents are encouraged to participate. The students are academically serious. About half will transfer to University High at the U of I. We have had two daughters attend CMS and cannot say enough wonderful things about the program. It is unique at a national level.

We've had one daughter graduate from CMS and are enrolling the second daughter. There is an incredible emphasis on academics in an environment which promotes independent thinking without sacrificing core learning. As an all girls institution, students are clearly much more confident than their counterparts at co-ed schools. The teacher to student ratio is fantastic and the dedication of the teachers is admirable. Although private, there is no "country club" feel. Instead, there is a sense of community that prides itself on academic achievement without snobbery or a sense of elitism. Parents can be as involved as they want to be and given how much fun the school is, they all want to be very involved. Our only disappointment was when our daughter finally had to leave. Her CMS education helped get her admitted to Uni High but more importantly gave her the proper foundation to succeed there. We loved it before and look forward to returning this fall. Head and shoulders above the competition.

A great school for our daughter. She grew intellectually, socially, academically and athletically over her three middle school years. Eighth grade was especially rewarding because of the required project (hers centered on chef/caterer business). Single-gender, small size, truly challenging curriculum have prepared our daughter for an ambitious college-bound curriculum in high school. And the parents, the kids and the teachers were a joy.

A nurturing environment combines with high academic standards in the heart of the University of Illinois Campus where a diverse community of girls learn to work together and give back to their community and the world.

This is a wonderful school! Very solid academics (the math & science curriculum are especially strong & well taught) and a very calm & nurturing environment without the distraction & drama of boy issues. What more can you want for your 10-14 year old daughter?

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
