Awesome Christian community, with great teachers and curriculum!
—Submitted by a parent

Posted September 15, 2009

I attended LPCS from 1st to 11th grade. I learned so much there, and would not trade a day. We used a superior Christian curriculum, A Beka Book. It was a spiritually encouraging and socially stimulating environment. I currently am 21 years old and am going to be a teacher. I owe this to my LPCS freshman English teacher, Mrs. Bergmeier.

My children have been at LPCS since Pre-K and we have been please with the education that they have received up to this point. There have been some administration changes in the past few years that we were unsure about, but God had it all in control and things have turned out just fine. There are a couple of areas of concern for our family, but none of them are detrimental to our children's education or spiritual growth. One is the fact that we believe they should implement a uniform dress code. There are students at LPCS that can barely afford to be there, let alone dress the way the kids with more money do. It is hard on kids to feel like they don't fit in. If there were uniforms the kids would feel more equal in my opinion. That is just one area of concern. There should be football!

average

Our rating (from 1 to 10) reflects a school's overall performance. The higher the rating, the more likely the school will prepare your child for the future, so choose an above-average school (8-10) if possible. For average schools (4-7), do careful research and look for evidence that the school has high-quality programs. For below-average schools (1-3), take caution; a low-performing school may not provide the instruction or environment your child needs to learn, and you may need to supplement classroom lessons at home.

Academic rating

The academic rating is made up of equally-weighted parts: students' test scores, their academic growth (for elementary and middle schools) and their readiness for college (for high schools). The graphs below compare this school's results in each area to other schools in the city and state. Growth and college readiness ratings are coming soon, pending publication of 2012 data.
