The teachers at Fairview are incredible. Teachers should always have a "passion" for teaching and that passion is extremely visable with the teaching staff at Fairview Elementary. With such a transient student population and the challenges these kids face, teachers at Fairview are much more than just teachers. The kids learn and know that these people care, not only about their grades but about them personally. Sometimes that makes all the difference in the world!

Fairview has always been a school with very committed teachers, now in a new building they will be able to carry out may of the curriculum ideas that space had previously limited. It is a building that will hopefully inspire children and families.

I love Fairview School because Fairview School has a great Head Start program located in their Elem. School and that will help prepare those younger children for their Elem. School success. The Head Start teachers/aides are just great with the kids. Thank you to Stacey, Jean Marie, Justine, and Shakey for doing a FABULOUS job and thank you to Fairview Elem. School for seeing how important Head Start is!

I work in the local community and have had the pleasure of helping the staff and children at Fairview over the past few months. The teachers, adminstration, and support staff are truly dedicated to educating and caring for the children. Unfortunately, many of these students are in extremely disdavantaged circumstances. I have seen the patience, understanding, and desire to really help these children by everyone at the school. This school deserves to win!

This school serves a majority of under privileged children and is doing an excellent job. It needs and deserves more funding to help even more children!

Fairview has adopted an innovative approach to our children's education. They are creating well rounded children who at the end of their education will know more then just the required proficiency tests.

I have only had positive experiences with Fairview. They try really hard to make their school great. Lack of parental involvement is what seperates them most from other schools. A school cannot be held accountable for every aspect of a child's learning.

We have been very disappointed in fairview. We have two children who have gone there. The youngest is in kindergarten and has actually regressed in his year there. The oldest just finished 2nd grade. He has decided he hates writing which he used to love and that he does not like school. We are pulling both kids out. There are much better schools in Bloomington In. Both public and private.

I am a former employee from Fairview Elementary. I feel Fairview is an awesome school with a very caring & knowledgable faculty & staff. From my inside experience I feel that better parental involvement could improve the schools greatness that is often questioned. Parents lack of involvement is where most of Fairview's problems lay in my opinion. Let your kids see you in their school. Ask the school what you can do to help out. I am thankful for my time at Fairview and the friendships of employees as well as parents that were involved. If you are not a member of the PTO then inquire and join and get involved. Fairview has so much to offer your child/children. All you need to do is get involved to see all that I did.

I'm not a parent, but I am a graduate of Fairview Elementary. I think that the staff was one of the best in county. The teachers were willing to help me and other students. They also contacted parents if there was a problem with a childs learning ability. I also felt that the principal was the best in the county. As far as the quality of academic programs, I can honestly say that if I had gone to another school, I probably wouldn't know as much as I do today. I say this because of having talked to students from this school and other schools, most students and parents liked Fairview better.

I would just like to say that I have had the pleasure of having my child at Fairview Elementary. My child is in Mr. Richardson's class and is being shown how to become a productive member of society. As a hard working single mom I can not express how important it is that my child has a posistive male role model. From what I've been told by my child he is very supportive when my child is on task which is very important, and he is stern when my child gets out of hand which is even more important. In this day in age when everyone is hungrary for the all mighty dollar is nice to see a staff that is in teaching for a much more knoble cause. So I thank you even though you work with the most challenging kids you make them challenge themselves the most. THANKS.

I am really considering placing my child in a private school after my experience with Fairview Elementary.I moved to this area two years ago.My child never had problems at their previous elementary school.Fairview is very disorganized. My child had 4 ISS's in a 2 month period that were never brought to my attention.I was told by the assistant principle that they do not consider a child a problem until they have 17 ISS's.I do not exaggerate here folks. My child participates in an afterschool program.I called the school to notify them that my child needed to attend the after school program,as I would not be home to get my child from the bus. They sent my child home on the bus anyway, luckily my neighbor was home and my child is safe.No thanks to Fairview's disorganized faculty.
