Refer to every other review. This place has zero integrity or honesty. Chris Miller has got to go

The leadership at this school desperately needs to change. Chris Miller, Director, says all the right things, but is misappropriating funds and does not supply the classrooms with the teaching materials. Nancy Lefever, Board President, allows Chris to run the organization as she sees fit, with no accountability. Board meetings are supposed to be open to the parent population, but we have never received word of any meetings, nor have we been given the opportunity to vote for Board leaders. Open communication is touted, but the only communication is very tightly controlled and voices of dissent are ignored. The elementary program is a joke. The class is held in a rotting trailer, that had no hot water for two months in the middle of winter. The children are afraid of the raccoon that lives under the trailer. The current teacher is unqualified to instruct elementary students and provides work for the kindergarten class. If the program continues, be aware that the turnover for the elementary program is 8 teachers in 7 years. There are no music class other than beating together drum sticks, gym is running around the playground bike path or doing yoga. Lunches are unhealthy and from fast food restaurants such as Taco Bell, Burger King, Culvers, Dunkin' Donuts, and Fazolis. There was a report to the Health Dept. about food being prepared at a staff members home and served to the children, this was proven true and now they are applying for a food service license that should have been applied for years ago. The teachers do an excellent job of teaching the student. My child excelled in the classroom and learned to love learning. They teachers buy most of the materials themselves, without reimbursement, and make a sincere investment in the child. School supply cabinets are locked that are filled with hundreds of dollars worth of supplies provided by parents, but never released to the teachers. The facilities and property are in ruin. Mold can be found in the children's bathrooms and under classroom sinks. The student to teacher ratio is not followed. The school is not licensed or accredited. The "authentic" Montessori is based on Chris's standards, not Maria Montessori standards. This place is running because of the successful years before Nancy came to power. The reputation was built and it is being ruined.

Grateful to: Teacher

Mrs Livinston, Mrs Ruppert, Mrs Brewton, Mrs Birkle, and Mrs. Bratzler, you made everyday that my child was there a joy. She loved school and learning. You gave her the skills and the fortitude to encourage her curiosity to venture out and be creative and curious. We miss you tremendously, since we left.

Teacher effectiveness: Very effective

The teachers are excellent! They provide the materials from their own homes, when the materials are not provided by the school. They invest their time, money, and soul into the well-being of every child there. They are loved by the child and they love the children. It's apparent every day.

I would have liked to have been more involved with the work my daughter was doing, but we only had spelling words to review.

My daughter is very compassionate to others, but she has always been this way. The teachers reinforced what was already part of my daughter.

The teachers do their best to instill these traits in the children. But the question needs to be asked, if their is no integrity and honesty in the school, and the teachers allow it to continue, how much integrity and honesty can be taught?

The teachers are wonderful(except current elementary). My children have learned a lot. The Head of school is horrible. There was terrible miscommunication when it came to school issues. For example there were two cases of head lice and she chose not to share with parents. There is also issues with the Hot Lunch being up to date with the Health Department and playground safety.

The school is not state accredited and students are not meeting state standards. There needs to be more math, reading and writing in the elementary not just art.

You can not instill honestly and integrity in your students if you don't have them yourself.
