I've seen the kids here and it seems that they need discipline. They curse at the other schools and it doesnt seem like the staff notices. I think they have great teachers and a good teaching method, but it is a bad atmosphere for the kids because of the cursing. I wouldn't go there.

CMS is an awesome school. I currently attend this school and it is amazing. They offer many courses like Hi interest Science and Social Studies as well as Algebra 1 a high school course brought to be avalible to 8th and 7th graders. Two exceptionally good teachers are Ms. Emrich and Mr. Koehlinger who helped me and were very enthusiastic. This school is very good as well as containing many clubs and sports like FIRST Lego League and Track. The school taught me a lot about life and social issues. I currently attend 7th grade and I am greeted with many great teachers like Mrs.McNiece and Mr. Terrell. CMS is great school with a great environment and it is very candid and inspiring! :)

CMS is a great school. They have top notch academics, and a very attentive staff. This year they rolled out the web site which is district wide. This website allows me to see all of my kids' daily assignments, homework, and graded material. This along with their attendance (counted for each period of the day), lunch account & book fee balances. It's nice. I am able to micromanage my procrastinating daughter, without constantly emailing teachers. However if the need be, email is always an option as is phone calls and conferences. They honestly work hard to help the kids succeed.

My son attended 6th grade here and really excelled! He had wonderful teachers in all subjects, especially Math and Social Studies. Mr. Koehlinger and Ms. Emrich were exceptionally great teachers. They gave him the knowledge and opportunity to thrive and succeed. He greatly enjoyed the castle project and field trips with the class. We have to move for job reasons, we will miss this school and it's excellent staff. Thank You!

I thought I had a good elementary school, but when I came to Carroll I was in amazment of how nice everyone was and how they accept you for who you are. Being a new student in the system I did not know anyone and felt very nervous about the whole idea, but the nice kids and the young and wonderful staff set the setting for a wonderful enviornment. I love CMS and I would never go anywhere else!

I am not a parent. I attend Carroll Middle School. This school is great. The teachers are nice, and we have a fun learning atmosphere. We do not where school uniforms, which allows us to express ourselves, although we do have a strict dress code, which most people abide by. This school has taught me a lot. I am currently going into the 8th grade. And this school has helped me a lot. I wouldn't choose any other school anywhere. I love Carroll Middle School.

average

Our rating (from 1 to 10) reflects a school's overall performance. The higher the rating, the more likely the school will prepare your child for the future, so choose an above-average school (8-10) if possible. For average schools (4-7), do careful research and look for evidence that the school has high-quality programs. For below-average schools (1-3), take caution; a low-performing school may not provide the instruction or environment your child needs to learn, and you may need to supplement classroom lessons at home.

Academic rating

The academic rating is made up of equally-weighted parts: students' test scores, their academic growth (for elementary and middle schools) and their readiness for college (for high schools). The graphs below compare this school's results in each area to other schools in the city and state. Growth and college readiness ratings are coming soon, pending publication of 2012 data.
