I went here for Kindergarten through the third grade. Even though I am in High School now I still remember the times I had here and the teachers I had while attending. Forest Park in an amazing school with amazing teachers, I highly recommend going here while you still have a chance. I am very sad that I couldn't finish elementary school here. You will remember the teachers and friends you meet here for a lifetime.

I moved to Ft. Wayne in the middle of the school year. When we made an appointment to tour the school and find out more, they went above and beyond and did preliminary testing on my kids for their Math and English levels. (I had one that was younger than Indiana cutoff and One struggling with reading) This helped so much in determining where they fit for Indiana schools. It might have 700 kids but the administration takes time to know all of them. Our only problem has been busing issues, but that's more my neighborhood than the school. The school has always taken care of the bus issue when I called. The low score is very misleading, given the number of foreign students just learning english. I just wish more parents would be involved.

Too many children, in too small of an area. Does not give individual attention to most students. Staff does NOT work willingly with parents or pyschologists, even though they deem it important. Will NOT be going back there next fall.

I love Forest Park because they have taken the time to really get to know my two children and their learning styles & accomodated them according to that style. Also from the administration to the teachers and the principal they have made me motivated to get involved in my child's educational career. My daughter just started middle school and that same ethic has spilled out to that school. They are passionate, loving and just a humble school to have your kids in.

Forrest Park is the first school I know of to have teachers that recognize students that need extra work to keep them busy because boredom leads to trouble. Thank you FP

My Child has been going to Forset Park for 3 years. The school is over crowded, the kids don't get hardly any down time, they must eat in silence, and if they don't they are punished andput on the wall. The teachers don't seem to care much about being in contact with the parents. When you ask for extra help for your child, you can forget it. You get told to go pay for help somewhere else. You can bet that my child will not be going there next year

When we first moved to Ft Wayne, it was too late to move our child into anothr school. She had been in giftedlearningclasses in Bloomington, but Forest Park offered nothing for gifted students. We found the teachers and staff to be very uresponsive to our concerns. It was like pulling teeth to get them to talk with us or to respond to any of our questions. The school seemed very disorganized and communication with parents was haphazard at best. When it came time for our youngest to atend school, we tried to talk with the Forest Park representatives at the school choice fair, but they seemed very uninterested in telling us anything. They had an atitude that seemed to say, 'You in our district, so we don't need to impress you.' We decided to send our daughter to the science magnet school instead.

I have never had a problem with this school. I have a second grader and a kindergartener and they both love Forest Park. The teachers my oldest daughter has had have been so awesome that I demanded my youngest daughter get the same teacher my oldest daughter had. I highly recommend this school for any parent looking for a great school for there kids.

The quiet lunch policy and limited free time limits academic progress as students have no down time. Unresponsive administrators to family concerns are frustrating. Grumpy teachers aids add to suppressive environment. Little attention given to above average students.

Forest Park was a change for both of my kids, grades 4 & 5. Both students were in 'Gifted' classes in Georgia, I was disappointed that there was no 'Gifted' program, as advertised, at this school. When I called the FWCS main office, I was told 'I should be grateful I had gifted children, rather than learning disabled and I should be honored to pay for any supplemental instruction to keep their abilities where they were, and not look to the taxes I pay to meet their needs through the school district.' This is also the first school I have ever seen with No Playground Equipment for the older students. My kids said they have 25 minutes to get their food at lunch, they are not allowed to talk,if they do,the lunch monitorputs them on the wall-no food at all. We home schooled.

My three kids have gone to Forest Park the whole six years. The years come and go on the good and bad depending on what teachers they get. I have done my homework. We have had three different principals and we have been adjusting to that. I would give this school and very good rating overall. My kids are really involved with music, sports and other school activities. Great school!

This is a great school the teacher are excellent and they do take there time with the children and they do make it very interesting for them to learn. If I had any more kids I surely would have them go to forest park as I have felt it is an excellant school.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
