I used to be a student at holland then we moved and now I am in north west allen county schools. NACS is ten times better. hollands staff and students are horrible and we actually moved to get out of FWCS if you are smart and a good parent you would not let your child step foot in that school im in 6th grade an I left holland in 3rd I am so glad my little sister never had to go through that. I Hate holland
I like the school, but i would recommend taking your child somewhere, where they respect the parents.
Today is only day 3 of my daughters Kindergarten year at Holland, but we are already blown away by the school and it's staff. They are always sooo helpful and willing to talk to us about anything and everything. My daughter was nervous about going to school, especially all day long, but they have made her feel so welcome and special by just doing little things. And their willingness to talk to my husband and I at any time is a great feeling and very reassuring. I went to Holland myself many (many) years ago and I'm amazed that the administration is almost the same now as it was then. They have a great team in place and are definitely doing something right!
This school is great! They have the best teachers and staff in the FWCS corporation. They are caring and most of the teachers and staff are Christian, which is important to us. Our children were at Brentwood and that's a good school too, but we found Holland is even better at letting kids express creativity and individualism. Our kids have had awesome teachers and continue to flourish at Holland!
The PTA is very envolved and the principal is involved with the PTA as well which shows his support and helps to make PTA programs work well. I agree that there are some teachers that are 'set in their ways'. It is still important to my husband and I are that our children are respectful and kind to others including their teachers. However, there are a few teachers that are not willing to give the same in return. You have to give respect to get it back in return. Overall the administration is friendly. However, there is one woman in the office that you don't want to catch on a bad day. Parental involvement is the key to making sure that your child is successfull in school.
Overall, I would highly recommend this school. As with any institution, it has weeknesses but the parent group (PTA) seems to be a big asset to the overall atmosphere. Administration is good. Teaching staff is highly experienced but also seem close-minded (some, not all). My child loves going there.
My daughter attended this school 2 years ago, and recently went back, she loves it. I have a concern with her new teacher, which is very unfriendly, does'nt want to discuss anything with me. The office personnel seems friendly and helpful. I don't agree with the Ft wayne Community school systems delay and canceling ways though!
It's a good school, but not a great one. Not very welcoming to parents. One person in office is down right rude. Teachrs seem a little set in their ways.
