I requested a transfer for my son to be able to attend Harris this year. Thank God I did and he was accepted. He is so happy at Harris. He has not had to deal with the bullying or not being challenged like he did at his last school. His teachers are wonderful! And best of all my gym teacher from 30 years ago is now my sons gym teacher! Your awsome Mr. Sweet!
My daughter jsut finished kindergarten at Harris and she had a great year there. The teachers are nice, the office staff is very friendly and Mrs. Beaman, the principal, goes over and above to reach out and connect with all of the students and their families. We are really looking forward to 2008/2009 school year when we will have 2 children attending Harris.
Harris is a great school with a wonderful staff that attends to the kids and helps them achieve!!!
Harris has been a good school for my children. They enjoyed chess club the most. Mr. Johnson is a teacher and chess coach. He certainly stands above the rest. However, the office staff is not very friendly , so if you are considering this school, go beyond the front office. All of the teachers at Harris are wonderful, warm, and caring. Harris is a wonderful school where the teachers work with the students and parents to provide a comfortable learning environment. Both of my children attend and have had excellent teachers. Thank you for helping my son to make a smooth transition to a new school. And I appreciate Mrs. Beaman for making positive phone calls home to make that extra attempt to connect with families. I look forward to the 2007/2008 school year and know that my children are in good hands.
I believe that Harris Elementary is one of the best elementary schools in Fort Wayne. The students are taught by great teachers that put discipline, citizenship, respect for others and patriotism at the top of the list! My children love to go to school there. Harris also has fine extracurricular activities, including chess club, spell bowl, and many after school sports programs.
