II love this school overall. I have been very pleased with the teachers the past 3 years. This year has been a little more difficult, but the teacher does respond quickly with e-mail. I have also had interactions with both the principal and vice-principal. I have been impressed with how they handle situations and interact with the students.
My son has gone to clark for 3 years, he struggles and I generally have to help him at home for hours because he hasn't learned the material. I have been concerned about his homework only to discover he has not been turning any in, was someone going to inform me that he was missing assignments?? NO! They are overwhelmed, my son is falling behind but they offer no help because there just isn't enough staff for all the children! They run/skip/play down the halls! I will say I really think the principal does an amazing job trying to keep up with the kids and I really like her. I don't care for her assistant who is judgemental and rude. I've never had a positive interaction with her.
I am a parent of a 2nd grader, and I am not happy with the progress my daughter has received from this school. The teachers do not inform you if they see your child struggling. The parent is the one that has to bring it to the teachers attention. They say that they will try to evaluate and get the help needed, IF there is room for them in that class. I am sorry, but if your child is struggling that child needs to be pulled out for that extra help no matter what. So my question is then that i guess if there is no more for my child, then they will continue to struggle and be pushed through the system!!!
The school is beautiful. I do wish there were less kids per teacher. I think 27 per class is way to many. I feel this is a problem because if your child did'nt hear or get the info taught in class he is out of luck and will fall behind. They do not have time to take your child by the hand and make sure they understand the material. Also they cannot seem to control that many kids at once. Which means your child cannot concentrate.
I was a teacher at Clark Elementary for five years. I have to say it is one of the finest elementary schools I have ever visited or been a part of. I am proudly sending my daughter to Clark for kindergarten this year. I know she will recieve the best possible education she can get. The teachers really care about the kids at Clark. I feel Clark educates kids the right way. I am proud to be a part of the Clark Elementary family.
My son loves going to Clark Elemntary! He is in the first grade and he has learned alot this year. Just watching how far he has come with his reading, is amazing. I think that the teachers he has had so far, have been wonderfull. He loves the variety of going to gym, art, and the Library on diferent days of the week. I am proud to say that my son goes to Clark Elementary!
Clark Pleasant isn't a school that you want your child to go to if they struggle. They dont communicate well and keep you informed when your child needs help. It's like pulling teeth to get them to call you back.
Clark is a great school with great teachers. We have had 3 children go to clark.
