Great environment with excellent teachers. In a time when foreign language, art and music are being phased out due to budget cuts, OLG has been able to provide their students a balanced and challenging curriculum with the above mentioned specials. It is not a coincidence that it was named a Blue Ribbon school in 2010.

OLG is an amazing school. I have two children at the school. One in Kindergarten and my oldest in 4th grade. Both are autistic and the schools special needs teacher and staff go above and beyond making sure all the boys needs are met daily. The school staff and families are truly a family. They are always there in good times and bad times to assure your child is getting the best education. I highly recommend this school!

I have 2 children who are in the elementary grades and although they LOVE OLG I have concerns as costs continue to rise and programs and faculty are being cut. There is no foreign language until the upper grades and classroom sizes grow to allow for 30 per class @ the 3rd grade and up.

OLG has been awesome! I've gone there since I was 3 in Pre-k, and now that I'm in 7th grade I am so glad my parents sent me here. OLG was such a support when my family went through hard times, and I'm so glad they were there for me because it made it so much easier. The teachers are great and it has been great! If you're looking for a school, OLG is the place for you!

Both of my children have attended OLG for the past two years. Not only have the teachers always worked exceptionally hard to help my childrens' minds grow, they make us feel as if we are apart of their family too.

My son is in 3rd grade and has attended OLG since pre K (4 yrs now) the staff is sincere and amazing with children. Our 5 yr old is a little girl and she loves to get up, get ready, and attend. She is in a group that she loves and to Mrs Peters and Mrs Henderson-the greatest-so kind to them and I have seen them uphold the standard in the classroom. Thanks OLG for the life our children have at school...from what I see as a parent OLG is so strrong due to all the staff and parents that are involved for the children. The long term is thought of.

I love this school. My k-student has been at OLG three years. The staff has control. The car rider line can be challenging. The other thing is no Aid for hard working families. My daughter loves it I will be sad next year when she goes to Isom. Isom is a good school also but OLG is home to her. Cost can be hard for a family of 8 with only one in OLG. God Bless you all.

My son will be a second grader at OLG this August. He has been very successful and is doing very well academically. There are 2 teachers per grade level, with 30 kids in each first and second grade class next year. The school has decided to hire an additional part time teacher for both grades next year for language arts so there will just be 20 kids in each class for the morning language arts instruction. The afternoons will have 30 in each class for social studies, etc. I think it's a great move that will help kids at different levels. Everyone there seems friendly and parents are very involved (volunteers for playground duty, lunch duty, office help, PTO).

average

Our rating (from 1 to 10) reflects a school's overall performance. The higher the rating, the more likely the school will prepare your child for the future, so choose an above-average school (8-10) if possible. For average schools (4-7), do careful research and look for evidence that the school has high-quality programs. For below-average schools (1-3), take caution; a low-performing school may not provide the instruction or environment your child needs to learn, and you may need to supplement classroom lessons at home.

Academic rating

The academic rating is made up of equally-weighted parts: students' test scores, their academic growth (for elementary and middle schools) and their readiness for college (for high schools). The graphs below compare this school's results in each area to other schools in the city and state. Growth and college readiness ratings are coming soon, pending publication of 2012 data.
