my daughter attend Henry Eggers middle school located in Hammond Indiana. My daughter has been going there since she was in the 6th grade so far I can say that she has enjoyed her learning experience and is very eager to go to school each day and learn more things. One thing I like about the school is a transition into different cultures and teaching the kids how to speak and recognize the other languages. The rewards system for students that does their best is excellent. My daughter looks forward to receiving her certificates when she's on the Honor Roll. I like the trip opportunities, available because as a single parent I can't take my kids to places I would like to, but thanks to the schools, kids who show integrity by achieving, get a chance to participate in these opportunities.

No hemos tenido ningun problema en la escuela Eggers. Los maestros son bien buenos. El principal es bien joven y entiende a los estudientes. La secretaria es una senorita bien amigable y habla espanol. Antes era diferente pero han cambiado mucho.

I have been in this school since I was in the sixth grade. They have lots of clubs and sports to join that are really fun. My grades are awesome because the teachers actually help and now I'm in advanced classes. I love eggers!

I am a former student that is attending Eggers as a 8th grader, I must say this school is amazing! Many of my teachers want to know where your struggles are, this school is one of the best middle schools around. Everyone gets along well, teachers and staff as well. I was nervous to attend Eggers before but once I step my foot in there it was a whole change, teachers were so nice and wanting to teach, unlike most other teachersbut anyways if you are looking for a school for your child choose EGGERS KNIGHTS!!!!! YOUR CHILD WILL HAVE A FANTASIC YEAR! (:

FAILED FAILED FAILED to protect and keep children safe during and after schools hours and also in school activities. The school does not handle bullying situations well at all I have 2 honor students who gets good grades a+ but got bullied every single day at eggers shamefully staff didnt no see nothing wrong after kids and students and parents complained they let it still happen! This school needs alot of customer service to do to learn how to deal with the public as well as children! Shamefull!

Eggers Middle school! Wow what can I say. My daughter graduated from Eggers in 2004 with no problems, my son is currently attending and is 8th grade also with no problems. Parents need to stay on top of their children if they want them to progress in school as well as in life. Teachers can only do so much with our children in 8 hours and the rest is up to us parents to keep the learning process going. Parents should attend meetings or join the PTA, the more involved we are in our childrens' education chances are they will do much better in school.

well, i attend eggers and today it is probaly a good school, well, when fights and arguments break out, the teachers or pinciples seem to not be there, but when everything is all good, then thats when the teachers and everybody else be out there, man it is very irritating when that happens, but by now, my grades are good, its just some really iiritating teachers who i dnt like, so whats the whole point of listening, but other than that its okay, but some of the teachers can be nice at times, and they can teach us things from point to point, and thats also a good thing too.

I am an honors student at Eggers MS and am appalled by our poor reputation within the city of this great school. We do the best with the funding available to us as we possibly can. I feel that the teachers and staff have a sincere will to teach and encorage the students to always do their best no matter what the circumstances. I am proud to have recieved an education from this school. On another note, I feel that the sports teams and academic clubs do well to represent our school in city and regional competitions. Due to the area that we live in, I feel some parents have a negative outlook on life, thus, they do not care as much about their kids education. Yourmiddle school experience is only as good as you make it. I am very proud of the students, teachers, and staff at the school.

Quality of academic programs are very week, teachers do not involve me as a parent in every day curricular. If you call to the schools homework hotline 9 times out of 10 you can't get any to date info regarding homework. Level of parent involvement is as week as the academic. The principal availability is so very weak and because they are not available to you as needed they handle my child in the worse way.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Indiana used the Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress-Plus (ISTEP+) assessment to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English language arts and math, grades 4 and 6 in science, and in grades 5 and 7 in social studies. The ISTEP+ is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Indiana. The goal is for all students to score at the passing level on the test.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
