We have two high achieving students at Spring Mill. Spring Mill teachers do a great job challenging our children. They are accessible and responsive whenever we have questions/concerns. We are impressed by the teachers' abilities to meet the individual needs of a very diverse student population. We have no doubt our kids are getting a first class education, while also developing empathy for cultures, families, students, situations that are different than ours. We LOVE the IB curriculum and the way that Spring Mill focuses on the IB Attitudes. The principal is outstanding. When she speaks to the students in a convocation, she communicates such important ideas to the students in ways that they can understand. Our kids love all the specials - art, music, Spanish, gym, library - and those teachers are dedicated and outstanding, too. Finally, we appreciate the involvement and commitment of the Parent Teacher Organization. There are some really awesome people who are helping ensure the school has the resources it needs to meet the needs of the students. Thank you, Spring Mill! We are so pleased to part of this special community.

We have had children at Spring Mill since 2008, and we have been extremely pleased with our experience. The teachers and staff go above and beyond to provide an excellent learning environment for each and every child. We feel that our son, who is now in middle school, was academically and emotionally well ahead of his peers. Overall, Spring Mill provides a great education in a community and family-oriented environment.

Spring Mill is a highly diverse school community focused on developing the unique skills and strengths of each child. It is a true community where children, parents, and staff work together in an atmosphere of high expectations and solid core values. Teaching and leadership at Spring Mill are focused and skillful. The school climate is nurturing, accepting, and highly aligned with the core values of the school district and the International Baccalaureate program. It is a great place for children and families.

We've been very happy at Spring Mill. There is a wonderful sense of community among the students, staff and parents. The teachers and administration work hard to make sure the students' needs (academic, emotional, physical and material) are met. I love the inquiry based curriculum because our kids are challenged to actually think and not just regurgitate information. This school is a hidden gem in Indianapolis!

In our neighborhood, we are fortunate to have many choices for schools including some very reputable private schools. As a parent, I investigated every option prior to deciding to send my child to Spring Mill. I was and continue to be impressed with the sense of community that exists in the school, the engaged and passionate teachers, the tremendous administrative leadership (just go meet the principal!), the quality of the education and the diversity the school offers. The school has achieved several accolades and awards including many grants which speaks to the high-quality education it provides. Additional, the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is very active. For example, in 2014 the PTO funded the playgrounds make-over, upgrades, and enhancements which really make outdoor play and learning enjoyable for all. I look forward to sending my other children to SMS!

I feel so fortunate that my children had the opportunity to attend Spring Mill for several years. The entire staff goes above and beyond to provide the best education and care for all students. The principal is an incredible educator and leader and I have so much respect and admiration for her. Spring Mill really did exceed all of my expectations in every way.

Spring Mill is a fabulous learning environment for our children. They encourage well-rounded children with a focus on being good citizens in addition to good students. We believe in the International Baccalaureate program and are so proud for Spring Mill to be recognized as an Ashoka Changemaker school. We value the strong academic focus coupled with an emphasis on diversity and being globally focused at the elementary level. Spring Mill is truly the right school for anyone who is excited about raising children who will be well prepared to compete in a changing global world.

Spring Mill always has something great happening in their building. Their teachers and administration continuously apply and receive grants which help support many new initiatives for all students. Academic excellence is always at the forefront of the minds of the teachers. They know their students and exactly what they need to achieve. The administration does a great job creating a team atmosphere in the building.

Spring Mill is a great school school in a supportive community. The Spring Mill staff embraces the diverse learners that they serve. They provide excellent educational programming for all students; however, with more state funding, they could provide even more opportunities for students beyond the traditional school day.

I am a retired teacher still promoting Spring Mill. It's a great school for children to learn and be active in the learning process. It's a school that promotes parental involvement. The teaching staff is superb because they go beyond the daily requirements. The administrative staff promotes and honors student success and creative teaching instruction.

The Spring Mill staff is amazing! The environment they create for the kids is one of positivity, encouragement, and safety. The staff truly opens up the whole world to these kids. They learn about almost every culture and learn to respect and embrace differences. The education the kids get at SMS is top notch. Even the "Specials" classes are great. The physical education teacher is amazing and the musical performances for the older kids are awesome. I love the fact that both of my kids were given the chance to have such wonderful experiences at a public school.

Spring Mill has gone beyond my expectations. We were originally out of the school district and I went "school shopping". I chose Spring Mill for its diversity. When we had the opportunity to move, we deliberately moved into the school district. SM has given my 3 students academic excellence as well as a unique world perspective. When my children we offered the opportunity to go to a different school for gifted students, we chose to stay at SM for its community, diversity, and demonstrated academic excellence. SM offers learning through a variety of evidence-based approaches so that every student has the opportunity to learn in his/her ideal manner as well as practice learning via other approaches. SMhas demonstrated its excellence through standardized scores that when looked at by demographic groups show excellence in teaching to even the most under-privileged populations. However, the best value SM has to offer is its community. SM feels like a school half its size. The faculty and staff know all of my students. In addition, there is such a high level of commitment and involvement among the families that our students can't help but be successful!

Spring Mill is a great school to work at. I am a graduate of North Central High School and am happy to work in the same school district I grew up in. I've worked in other school districts, but Washington Township is unique and my favorite. The student population is diverse and provides all students the opportunity to interact with students different from themselves. As a part of the special education team, I see how each staff member works to ensure that each student is receiving the supports that they need/deserve. All of the staff members care a lot about each of their students. The administrators in the building work hard to establish a positive environment for the students whether it's by recognizing acts of kindness or by celebrating the accomplishments of individual students daily. The PTO is very involved and provides the teachers with support whenever needed. I am proud to be a part of the Spring Mill community.

Spring Mill has been a good option for our family. I do wish the front office was friendlier and more welcoming, but the teachers do a great job at reaching out to parents and communicating regularly. The PTO is strong and the new IB curriculum seems to be going well, though at times it seems like a lot of worksheet work. We love that we attend and support our neighborhood school and keep a close eye to ensure our children's needs are met.

After having heard very high reviews of this school I was very disappointed with the disrespect and lack of leadership shown by the principle. My daughter just entered kindergarten and I find it to be ridiculous that when attempting to communicate my daughter's needs to the principle my concerns were ignored and disregarded. This is a shame considering the many great and wonderful teachers in this school really attempting to make a difference in children's lives whom I feel are not receiving adequate support from the leadership. Knowing the former principle of this school, who was wonderful, it is a shame to see what the school has dwindled down too academically and in their support of teachers and students.

I was co-president of the PTO this year. My son went to SM from 1st to 5th grade (his last day today), and I am so sorry to see him leave the school. It is a wonderful school, the teachers are fantastic, and the principal is awesome.

As a parent involved with my son's school, I feel that SME has an excellent academic program. My son's teacher encourages him to succeed and is available for him if he has a problem. She also communicates any problems or issues that come to her attention. SME offers diversity and numerous after school programs. I strongly recommend this school for anyone moving into the area.
