Leavenworth Elementary is a wonderful small elementary in rural southern Indiana. It is a National Blue Ribbon and 4 star school but those aren't the only reasons the school is outstanding. Small class sizes and full time Kindergarten (funded by the local community foundation) have been crucial to our success. As teachers we are given the tools and guidelines to raise our classroom effectiveness yet at the same time teach in our own personal style. This is because of the trust of the building principal more so than the central office. The atmosphere at the school is positive and the parent support is fantastic. I am truly blessed to be a teacher at Leavenworth Elementary.
The teachers here are wonderful! The kids are learning a lot and having fun too. There are lots of ways for parents to get involved at school from field trips to PTO, volunteering in classrooms and on special projects. The school and grounds are clean and modern. There is even a public library right down the road. Oh yeah, the food is good too!
