I was happy with this school until a recent incident occurred where not all parties are taking the blame and should be.
I love this school. My daughter is getting a great education in a safe and loving enviroment.
As someone whose children both went to Sugar Creek, I can say that this school is top notch. From the principal to the support staff, everyone really cares about the kids in this school. I know that the teachers work very hard to individualize the instruction and to push each student to their highest potential. The Unified Arts classes are taught by certified teachers giving students more opportunity to find their passions.
Sugar Creek has a wonderful faculty who are working so very hard to help every student thrive. They pay special attention to helping those who struggle with academics. They would use these funds to benefit the students.
great school the teachers really care about the kids.
We have been in the school system for one year now and our first grader is exceeding and enjoying school. We moved her in the middle of Kindergarten year. The teachers and extended staff made the transition so easy. She immediately fit in and so did we. Principal Strangeway went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable with her enrollment, and that our questions were fully answered. We have been extremely pleased with the curriculum. We particularly like the way that the students are broke up into individual groups to learn with peers of their same level. This school recognizes that students may be stronger in one subject over another and cater to that. Our daughter is challenged and rewarded everyday at school. Moving to New Pal and Sugar Creek is one of the best decisions we've made for our family.
This school turned out to be a poor choice for our family. My children came from a private school and while getting straight A's the first couple of quarters, their grades dropped dramatically and my son had problems with bullies. After 2 years of trying to work with the teachers to find solutions we decided it would be best to withdraw our children.
This school has been a blessing to our family. All of the teachers and staff at SCE have all opened their hearts to both of my children. I have watched the teachers all go beyond the call of duty for their students. I know of one teacher who goes right after school to tutor a student who got ill right after the school year started. She has demonstrated a kindness and professionalism that I was happy to discover existed. The principal is wonderful. He truly cares and knows each child. The enviroment truly cultivates a love for learning. The creative things they have developed to keep the children excited about learning are wonderful. They start with the Cody Store with the library to the Math club with the principal. The children really feel like the school is their home. The community here overall is more like a family than school.
My daughter has attended this school since it was opened in 2000. We had a great first two years and a we are having a great fourth year (fifth grade). She had some trouble last year, but overall I am very pleased with our school. They have a great PTO and it raises a lot of money for the school. There is a hand chime choir for the older children and it is wonderful to see them perform. I would definitely recommend our school. We also have an excellent principal who is extremely involved and gets to know the kids.
SCE is a wonderful school. It is full of teachers and staff that truly care for the children and their well-being. I have never had any problems and everytime I come in, I am welcomed. It is a great school.
