From my experience the teachers do not seem as interested in educating your children as they should be until you let them know that you are very concerned and are keeping on top of what is going on with them at school and their homework. I have worked with a couple of really good teachers but for the most part you have to let them know that you will not let your child slip through the cracks. After that is made clear you seem to be taken more seriously.
