This school is going down hill and fast . I used to be very pleased on sending my kids here . It was a one time great school. Teachers here forget the promise they made when becoming a teacher. No communication to the parents ,even when the parents request it . They like to blame the student until the true fact is shown to their face and then the lie after lie comes out regarding them trying to cover up . This is why you save everything on your children .

I have 2 first graders at this school that have very different personalities and ways of learning. While one is excited about learning and school, my other child is more withdrawn in class and struggles with certain aspects of the curriculum. As soon as the teacher realized there was a problem she immediately contacted us to discuss possible methods to help get him more involved and to help him take more responsibility for his work. She saw the potential in my child and did not give up on helping him throughout the year. I was also very impressed with all of the activities and projects that help get the parents involved with their child in the classroom. I am happy we moved into this district and excited to see what the upcoming grade levels have to offer.

I teach an extracurricular, after-school class for students at this school as I do for other schools throughout northwest Indiana and I can always tell in about two minutes just how dedicated the day-long teachers are to teaching and maintaining appropriate discipline in their school ... This is a school that plainly has a dedicated and consistent day-long teaching staff as well as administrators who expect the best in their teachers and their students (as well as the custodial staff since this is a very clean school in one of the older buildings I teach at) ... the students are respectful and adhere to instruction from me quite willing ... they are enthusiastic and interested and while the subject i teach can be a bit tedious at times, they give their best effort ... as with any group of students who just finished a day of school and are ready to explode into their after-school lives, they do on occasion have an extra energy that needs to be reigned in but it doesn't require more than a simple reminder from me and they are back on task This is obviously a well-run school with educators who care and give their best to their profession, their students, and their school.

I can't say that this is true for all the teachers in at this school, in fact I know that not to be the case. However for my child, who struggled with reading when we asked for help from the teacher and the principal, we were told that he wasn't the lowest of the low. No help was given until we went to the administration office. Once we went to the administration office our child was pulled for a skill that wasn't the issue.

Even though my daughter has been out of this school for a while I was very happy with everyone there from staff to volunteers. She was happy there. I would like to thank the entire staff for a job well done.
