CCS has been a great place to have our children grow. They learned to work hard and work smart, while doing it all 'as unto the Lord.' Each placed high in their high school ranking and at the collegiate level, they each received academic honors. Each was nominated as outsanding Sr. at the collegiate level (at major State universities) and won other academic, and social awards. Two were placed on national student boards. My husband and I believe much of the credit goes to CCS. Our children are graduated now, but our daughter and her husband won't leave the area becasue they want their children in CCS. Both have had experiences in other schools related to their occupation, but no other school begins to compare to CCS for them. If we had to do it all over again, we would be at CCS. We would highly recommend!
A truly inter-denominational school that integrates Christianity into a rich academic program without the legalism that I have found in many other 'Christian' schools. The teachers and staff are extremely qualified and go above and beyond for the families and their children. If you choose CCS you will be embraced by a warm family of believers. CCS is a rare gem among Christian schools and Richmond is extremely blessed to have such an option in the community. We recently moved to Lafayette and among the 5 or 6 Private Christian Schools we have looked at, nothing can compare. We miss CCS!
Great school! Learn of Christ, but teachers make little and parents have a need to do alot of fundraising. Typical for Christian Schools. A lot of need for helps, but the learning well worth it. My son went to Highland Elementary and passed the classes but learned little and some of the teachers were overwelmed by class size (too big). They told us he wouldn't pass the ISTEP, but when he went to Community Christian, he has passed them all. He had to do the grade over because the level of teaching is ahead of Richmond schools (though he passed them with a B- average), but what he has learned was well worth it. What good is passing a grade if you learn nothing by doing so. Highly recommend this school over the public school!
