SMS has a lot to offer. The band program is phenomenal!! My son is autistic and this Mr. Kruse has been wonderful with him. I also applaud Ms. McCune, the assistant principal. She has done wonders with my son. True, SMS has its weaknesses but I would say 95% of the staff are truely there because they love children and they love to teach. They just want to see our youth succeed.

My daughter attended this school for 6th grade and half of 7th grade. I wish she could have stayed through 8th grade but we needed to move. The principal is top notch and very personable with kids and parents. There are several young teachers who are very energetic and relate well to the kids. My daughter thrived there.

basic education for typical children are ok. Special education services are hard to get especially if the disability is not physical & accelerated program is very limited and not available to all students who would benefit.
