Southwestern Elementary is one cool school! They have a wonderful staff who truly cares about their students. Parents are welcome to visit their childs classroom, have lunch with their child, or just lend a helping hand. They provide a fun, friendly learning enviroment, and demonstrate how much they believe in our children.
My son moved there in 3rd grade. I don't like their set up at all. How can you have a class of 30 kids: 5 fast, 5 slow, 20 average and teach? They have 2 teachers per grade and no program to help advanced students stay advanced. Their ISTEP scores are below average. My son is now in 7th grade and next year won't attend SW, thank heaven for no more tuition!
SWES is a small, traditional school. My children have been happy attending this school. I am looking forward to best teaching practices and consistancy, as well as a new leader.
My two kids attend Southwestern Elementary. I have been very satisfied with their progress.
My great-grandson attended kindergarten at Southwestern this past year ... everyone was great, very quick reaction time to any problems/question we had, very realistic and caring teacher's.
