Tall Oaks School is most definitely a 'needle in a haystack' find. We spent the better half of two years researching and interviewing at private schools in downtown Chicago, where we resided before venturing out to Valparaiso. After going through this process, we looked at education from a whole different perspective. The curriculum and parent and teacher dedication at these Chicago schools all contributed to why these students were excelling and why these schools' tuitions ranged anywhere from $8,000 to $18,000 a year. Even at these prices, the demand made it nearly impossible to get in. Why? Parents realized the quality of education, and they desired this for their children. Tall Oaks has a curriculum that parallels the private schools in Chicago. The classical approach and integrated curriculum challenges students and teaches them not only how to learn but to love learning. The Christian world view and the teaching of the sovereignty of God is presented in a way which allows the children to not only appreciate and respect one another and others, but allows them to gain a deeper understanding of their place in this world.

Tall Oaks Christian School offers an excellent liberal arts education. Our daughter is a kindergartener at TOCS this year, and she has developed so much academically! Their curricula are very well-constructed, and our daughter has made quick progress, especially in reading and math. Since Tall Oaks has excellent teacher-student ratios, my daughter has gotten individualized, skill-appropriate attention in every subject. She has also benefited so much from the art, music, and PE programs--the school does so much for her that we couldn t do here at home. And, perhaps most importantly, I know that she is loved and cared for by a strong community. Since older children and younger children interact frequently, it s as if she has an extended family in the school.

I am a volunteer at Tall Oaks and have been amazed by this school! I have observed and experienced the Christian atmosphere as nuturing and genuine. The staff is proffesional and they provide a wide range of personal educational experiences for the students far excede the neighboring public schools. I see an excitement for God and for learning. What a combination!

If you are praying and seeking an excellent Christian School that is 100% Christ centered that this is this school for you. It blew me away to see the classes in action when we visited. Now our child is in grade K and it is so amazing what she is learning not only knowledge but spiritually as well.
