South Knox Middle-High School

South Knox schools overall are great schools, full of caring teachers, staff and parents. There are a few problem students/parents here, but very few compared with neighboring school districts. Ask anyone around and you will hear 'South Knox students are great!'

This school has a wonderful academic and sports program. There is a variety to choose from. The teachers are willing to help you when you are stumped. I am greatful to go to South Knox.

South Knox is a wonderful place to send a child who excels in academics or sports. I would hesitate to send a troubled child or one who needs extra help. They have multiple programs for what they consider accelerated children but offer almost nothing of any value to children in need, either emotionally or academically. They offer a lot of extra curricular activities, but only to the children whose parents can afford it. The lower income children are often put by the wayside. If you can afford it, you children will do very well at this school. It honestly is a good school for good well behaved clean cut kids to flourish in. If you can raise 10's of thousands of dollars for a choir cruise, wouldn't it would be better if the money could be spent on education for children who are struggling either academically, emotionally or socially.

South Knox has a good academic cirriculum, but other than that I would not recommend this school. There is very, very little ethnic diversity and the athletic department focuses too much on basketball, which is one of our worst sports.But they never create any big hype over our soccer or track teams that have amazing records. If you can help it, I would really consider sending your child somewhere else.
