The teachers really care about the education and over well being of the students. The kids love the school and their teachers...they try to make learning fun as well as a big part of their life...a life long process

This is my sons third year at KVIS. The first two years he had great male teachers. This year his teacher is not into teaching kids or making them put forth their best effort. She has even insulted the kids in her class. The school has provided a great security system but the funds could have been spent better on books for the classrooms. The school is part of the D.A.R.E. program which is great for the kids and they have a great instructor.

This school spends far to much on protection that is not needed. To start off for being in the middle of nowhere this school sure has a lot of security. Instead of spending needed money for education they spend it on security devices that have not once been neccessary. The staff is filled with teachers that were promoted to higher positions at the opening of the school. The counselor has even discouraged a students thoughts of what to do for not having the 'ability' needed for it. Besides a budget that anyone could throw together and non neccessary safety procedures, the school rules are rediculously strict and uneffective. The school assumes that punishing a child by making him write a small phrase 100 times will effectively stop them from doing anything wrong again.

Overall, I believe this is a great school! I would recommend anyone sending their child here. I like how they have split the grades to prepare children for middle school. This school offers 4-6 grades and the elementary only goes to 3rd. I think this separates children for maturity at the right level. I think the principal here is positive and friendly, but has awsome control over his students. I've had 2 children attend here. They have very high standards, and are way ahead of many other schools in Indiana. This is probably the safest school I have experienced, very strict rules, but safe.My children feel safe here, but not always accepted by their peers. The competition here is tough. The school is only a few years old, very clean and up to date. 99% teaching ability has been exellent over the last 3 years in my opinion.
