We have a great staff who care about every child, children from many different countries and language backgrounds, and a great PTO who do many things to support the school and teachers.

Meeker has wonderful teachers, caring, providing solid academic knowledge. Music and PE are great! The problem is art - the teacher makes children hate art, she is disrespectful, kills the creativity, comes to class unprepared, allows children to draw only a few times a year, otherwise gives coloring pages, makes crafts appropriate for preschoolers.

My son attended Meeker elementry in Ames IA last year (3rd grade). As a very involved dad, I found Meeker to have an extremely capable staff. This is true from speacials up to the Principal who demonstrated empower leadership and outstanding character.
