Do not send your child to this school! There is nothing but bullying at this school and the teachers and principal do nothing about it. We are moving to get out of this horrible place, home school if you have too.
Budget cuts or poor decision making?? This school flushed itself down the toilet by losing a great principal who could handle 2 schools on 1 salary and then "progressing" to getting a couple mediocre principals on 2 "great" salaries. What are we spending in fuel to keep 3 schools in 3 different towns? Ask VB, they blame fuel and budget cuts for all their problems. I used to be one of their biggest fans. Now I want to puke when I see how much of my property taxes go to them. Check out the news, VB doesn't know how to handle money.
I love this school! I attendended as a child, and now my children attend. This school does what's best for our kids, and I am proud to say we are part of the Van Buren School District.
I think that Douds Elementary Center is an outstanding school with an excellent administration, counselor & staff.
