My daughter has been at Veritas for 6 of her 7 grades. The teachers, at least at the elementary level are incredible, caring, dedicated Christians that want only the best for each child. Because parental involvement is low, prinicipal leadership has become very controlling. The board is not at all helpful either.

Our children have attended Veritas for the past four years. It is a gem of a school. We love the attention our children get from their teachers and the over all concern they have for our children's spiritual and educational growth. We've been pleased with the sports, music and drama activities available for the students. It's great to have all my children at the same school and not have to divide my attention between multiple schools. I love how the older students interact with the younger students and they all support each other. We love Veritas!

We love this school! We feel blessed to have our two children in this wonderful, loving, Christ-centered environment. The small class sizes encourage accelerated learning and the test scores are 2-3 grades higher than the national average. I would highly recommend this school for Christian families in the Lawrence area!

Veritas actually does very well in many areas. The previous review referred to "making do." However, I think it is more like "being good stewards." Although Veritas doesn't have the biggest budget for the latest gadgets, Veritas does have up to date computers, the latest software, and course offerings at the High School level that take advantage of digital media. Just one example of how Veritas takes a little money and carefully uses it to do big things.

This school is now K-12 and provides a classical Latin curriculum and the Bible is integrated into all classes. It currently has about 140 students from more than 20 churches. I have had 5 children attending over nearly 20 years. The tuition is very reasonable, and parent involvement is strong. The test results are very high (by junior high, most students place about 2 years ahead of national averages), and students place well in local, regional and national competitions in math, science and writing, and the arts. The sports programs are small, but growing and very competitive. I would be glad to talk to any interested parents/students.
