It's a small school location within the Hazard Independent school district. They have amazing school spirit and help every child. The principal knows every child by name and tries to get the students a well rounded education. My kids love going to school because of the interest the teachers take in them and the principal. They really care about the kids.

I'm a parent of a 7th grade student. I really like the the way the school handles their academics first, I also have had two other children to have gone to Rot G. and Graduated from Hazard City School. Go Dawgs.

I have a child in this school and am so happy that he has the opportunity to attend this school.The teachers and faculty really care about the students and they communicate with the parents about the childs needs.

One of the best schools in the area. The teachers work hard and are diligent towards helping students in need. The teachers work towards helping parents help their children with homework or anything else that is needed. I would have to be honest in saying it is better than the county school system. All they seem to be worried about is local politics.

This school is one of the worst schools in Kentucky, mainly because of the low discipline and control!

Until 2010-2011, Kentucky used the Kentucky Core Content Tests (KCCT) to assess students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 through 12 in reading, social studies, science, writing, and math. The Elementary School results displayed on GreatSchools profiles are for grades 3 through 5 combined for each subject. Middle School results are for grades 6 though 8 combined, and High School results are for grades 10 though 12 combined. The KCCT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Kentucky. Beginning in 2011-2012, Kentucky switched to the K-PREP and EOC exams.

EOCs are tests given to public high school students when they complete a course to assess their knowledge of important course concepts. They are similar to a final exam, except that they are created and scored by an outside testing company, ensuring that the tests are both rigorous and aligned with state and national college readiness standards.
