I have had children at NP for the past 5 yrs. I have been fortunate to be able to volunteer there, so have really seen a lot of what goes on behind the scenes. My children are receiving quality education in a very safe environment. The classroom teachers AND specials teachers are fantastic. NP offers much more than some of the other schools; both public and private both in the classroom as well as extra-curricular. We have had a recent a change in adminsitration and things continue to look up. While our past administrator may have rubbed a few parents the wrong way, there are two sides to every story and there are obvious holes in a previous negative post. While all decisions may have not been popular, I find it highly unlikely any child has been mistreated while in the care of NP staff. This would simply not be tolerated.
North Pointe is widely respected in and outside of Boone County for academic achievement, friendly professional teachers, and the personal attention given to every child. Reliable sources indicate that the previous comment is false. Would you allow this action against your child? Would the great teachers allow this action against their students? Would North Ponte be a successful school where children learn at such high levels if this type of thing were happening? The evidence is in the results and on the faces of the kids every day. North Pointe is a great place for kids to grow and learn!
My Son and Daghter go to this school and have for 2 school years now. The principal does not think about the childrens best interest and all he cares about is numbers test scores etc. When my daughter was struggling with her school work he made her eat lunch in a dark room by herself and then put her head down. when i asked him about it he said it is his school and he will run it as he see's fit. And now calls her 'lunch room girl'! To me this is cruel and unusual treatment!
The teachers are nice. When my son transferred to N.P. from Tennessee they made him feel at home.
Great teachers who care about your kids and different teaching styles so they do not lose any kids through the cracks.
We've had a fantastic experience with this school so far. I've been especially impressed with kindergarten teacher Mrs. Scharstein and 1st grade teacher Mrs. Warner -- my son made incredible progress with each and in addition to all the academic learning, he was also learning to love school and learning. Their genuine concern and affection for their students was obvious and much appreciated. Teacher's aide Mrs. Hamm is also a stand-out.
Highly recommend this school! The only bad news is that it is spitting at the seams.
I have two children who attend North Pointe and could not be happier with the education they have received. Mrs. Warner and Mrs. A. Smith are very compassionate about their students. When our children were in thier class, they always talked about how much their teacher loved them and cared about them. My husband and I were simple amazed each week at how much our children learned from these two extraordinary teachers. Our children felt safe and loved coming to school because of the committement and dedication of the staff. Hats off to these two teachers and all the staff at North Pointe for having high expections and helping all students to reach their full pontential.
I have a second and third grader at North Pointe and I have to say that the teachers that my kids have are exceptional. At first I was out off by the office staff, but they have warmed up over the year. The counselor there is wonderful and your kids are definitely safe there. The PTA is great and there are many volunteer opportunities at the school. They really do care about your child!
Great school, they are on target especially with the size
