My family LOVES Heritage Christian Academy! The teachers and faculty are wonderful Christian examples for our children. The teacher/child ratio is excellent. The curriculum is challenging. The facility is clean and neat. We love attending the sports events and experiencing the HCA spirit. GO WARRIORS!

Our oldest daughter just graduated from HCA last week with 35 of her closest friends. Over 50% of them have been in class with her since Kindergaraten and they were awarded close to $100,000 in scholarships. She was honored to be a Govenor's Scholar last summer and graduated with over a 4.0 GPA. She was involved in every school organization and a officer in most of them. She is very well prepared for college and WKU this fall. We could not be happier with the Christian based education she received there.

We have been at HCA for three years now... preschool and now kindergarten. We came so close to sending our child to public school. I'm so glad we didn't. It's unfortunate that even the best public schools here are far inferior. After talking to another parent who has had children in both the public schools and HCA and hearing that at one of our "best" schools a kindergartener was threatening to kill his classmates, I decided that I had to know that my child was safe and cared for each day. I also had to know that my child was going to school with other children who were being raised in a Christian home that focuses on being a productive member of society and embracing social responsibility. I'm just saying this like it is... this county has some great public school administrators, but the lack of parenting and the prevailing something-for-nothing culture here has destroyed the public schools and the administration's ability to improve it. You can't have good schools when parents don't care how they are raising their children. Teachers and principals can only do so much. I'm thankful for every day that we can keep our child in HCA and out of the public schools.

My daughter has been at the school for ten years. We have found that her educational opportunities and needs are met by the educators while keeping her with her age group. She is an above average student. Two years ago, I had her tested at an independent site to make sure her learning was on target and she was above average for her grade and age. During the illness of her Dad, the staff and students were very supportive. Her religious education is excellent. The sports program, academics, and Christian surroundings have been excellent. I have had a child in public school and was not a good experience.

We have been at HCA for several years now, and we have enjoyed everyone of them! The teachers are very hepful and caring, and school atmosphere is contagious! It is like a big family! We've had by far, a much better experience at HCA than at UHA. You are genuinely cared about as a student and person inside and outside of school, you are not constantly hounded about fundraising, and everyone is treated fairlyand equally as they should be!

I have two daughters that are or have been students at HCA. The eldest, is now enrolled as a freshman at Georgetown College in Lexington , KY and was the recipient of a aubstantial 4 year presidential scholarship. She attend HCA for 13 years, beginning in kindergarden. While at HCA, she also completed 9 hours of dual credit courses at the Hopkinsville community college. She participated in a broad range of scholastic and civic organizations as well as cheerleading. Both she and her younger sister, now a sophmore also participated in advanced and or AP classes. I have said all of this to say that our family could not be more pleased with the opportunities afforded our children by HCA. We feel that the teachers honestly care about each individual student and are all willing to take the time to provide personalized instruction if it is needed. We highly recommend HCA.

Heritage has been a great blessing for us. The faculty and staff have been supportive and kind. There has been no change in staff or facutly - they have been very constant and stable. Living In a district that has a lot of problems with discipline and the educational system as a whole - we are fortunate to have HCA.

My children had been attending Christian Heritage for a while, and things were great, until they let go of alot of great staff. Alot of the other staff left on their own because so many things were going wrong. There are now incompetant people working there. This school is all about money, and not caring at all about the children. Do not take your children here!!!

I love HCA. I am thrilled my child is attending this school with great teachers and administration. I know we are getting a solid Christian education that is college prep. I think the teachers and administration are always friendly and willing to listen to any concerns. I think the extra curricular offered is excellent both arts and sports. I feel my child counts at this school. I think the elementary and secondary teachers are great. I also feel the curriculum works well and I know many students who are doing well in college thanks to HCA. Keep up the good work!

This is my child's first year at HCA, and I must say, it has been a joy! The drop off and pick up is not that difficult, I don't find it a problem. My son went to a private school from 3 year pre-school to 8th grade (it only goes to 8th grade) I wanted to be able to send him to a school where I felt safe to leave him. I found this at HCA! I find the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. The sports program is wonderful. My son had the honor roll at his last school up until 7th grade, so far at HCA he has made it every time! I am very pleased and happy with all at HCA!

I have been sending my child to HCA for 7 years and we love it. It is worth the money for both me and my child. The academics are wonderful and I have found it very easy to interact with the kind, intelligent, and caring staff. The extracurricular choices aren't the best but my child has been completely content and found many activities she enjoys to be involved in.I am apart of our PTF and I am apart of much that HCA does.Overall my husband and I have been extremely pleased and will continue to send our child there while we possibly can.

My children have attended the school for the past six years. From the experience coming from the public school system my personal experience has been enjoyable. HCA has a competitive edge with classroom management and discipline. Material is relevant to my children's future in higher education and I am personally gratified about the safety precautions the administration enforces throughout the facility. My children and family are able to freely communicate with the administration and teachers while feeling comfortable. I would recommend the school for anyone who is interested in a safe, secure Christian environment.

After spending this year at Heritage, I can confidently say that we will not be back. My husband and I have found the people to be rude and uncaring. It is very much a hassle to drop off your children and the pick up situation is unreal. The education itself is adequate at best. There is very little concentration on college preparatory material. The High School - to College statistics are very poor considering the price you are paying for a private education. I am so sorry that I can not recommend this school We will be so glad when the year is over. My child deserves better.

Need to invest in better skilled coaches for the sports they play and build the program up more. Kids are all about sports. HCA needs to recognize more accomplishments of their students either in school or in other activities. HCA needs to not become 'clicky' and treat all the kids and staff equally. Need to advertise more and put more recognition of what the HCA students are doing and accomplishing! More involvement in the community. The dress code needs to be changed. It is very hard to find collared shirts with sleeves anymore and a HCA tee shirt for summer and HCA sweatshirt for winter would be great! Then no one would ever be in trouble over their attire for any student and would benefit the school budget and the families budget!

The teachers, for the most part, are excellent. Good sports and enrichment programs. However, the school turns over principals on a regular basis (5 in 10 years!), due to board interference. Makes it hard to see stability

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
