I think Cuba is a great school for my children to attend I know right away if some thing is off with my child at school. i have had no problems with the staff when it comes to them handling my bi polar son . I an very grateful they are very understanding when it comes to his needs . The kindergarten teacher is one of the best i have came across.

The principal and faculty at Cuba Elementary go out of their way for their students and parents. The principal and faculty are goal directed and supportive in their efforts to lead all students towards proficiency!

At this time this school isnt my first choice for my children to go to. The teachers in general are ok, and do a good job, except for the first grade teacher. Shes very verbal with her students, and yells at them quite often. Sometimes for no reason at all other than them annoying her. She really should be teaching at a higher grade level. I hope that I can place my children at another school next year, because this one just is not working out. Nothing is done when you make a complaint against a teacher, their all buddy buddy, and its all turned back to the parent as being the 'bad guy', when its the teacher. This is not how tax dollars should be spent at all. I would urge any parent to try and find another school to place their children in.

About the tests

In 2010-2011 Kentucky used the Kentucky Core Content Tests (KCCT) to assess students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 through 12 in reading, social studies, science, writing, and math. The Elementary School results displayed on GreatSchools profiles are for grades 3 through 5 combined for each subject. Middle School results are for grades 6 though 8 combined, and High School results are for grades 10 though 12 combined. The KCCT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Kentucky.
