When we first moved to Mt. Washington we were concerned about the quality of education. From elementary to a freshman in HS I truly don't believe we could have made a better decision for our daughter. We have been impressed by the quality of teachers, principals, class content, facilities, parent involvement, and the level of interest my daughter has in school. The board of education is very active and progressive and there are a lot of additional enhancements, to the educational system, coming in Bullitt County. A small county that is on the move. I did not want my daughter going to school in Jefferson County - that system is a mess.
I love this school the teacher are all nice. There is many of clubs/sports to join .
Great high school. I have a grandson who is a freshman at Bullitt East High School. I am very proud that he is going to this high school...
im a sophmore an tha teachers there are great there always welling to help... an there really care for tha students there...
I think my daughters' education has been outstanding and I love the teachers and staff. They seem to really care for the students. There is also a family feel to the school and it seems to have a great group of kids attending there. Great Job!
I think that the administration is awesome and really cares about kids. I really appreciate their hard work and dedication to our community.
The principle and staff have a degrading type attitude towards the students. They basically place themselves above their students and parents. I've encountered three incidents with them and all three times they have gone on the offensive and simply have no concern for facts or their own behavior or actions. Dysfunctional. There is no need to talk down on parents or students in the simplest conversations, they actually elevate the circumstance to a conflict. There is no need for such aggression, they are suppose to be professional educators.
As a former student, I saw several principals coming in and out--almost every year I attended. I've never seen a school have so many problems.
I'm disappointed that this school focuses more on the quantity of assistant principals instead of quality. As a parent, it is important that I send my teenage daughter off to school and not have to worry about the environment she is in. However, with Bullitt East, it's an everyday concern. I'm looking into private schools now so that she may get to transfer and actually enjoy her high school years, what's left of them. This school needs to focus on their student body and if nothing else, at least pretend to care about what is going on. This school leaves much to be desired. I for one don't think the administration has what it's going to take to turn this school around. What really gets me, is that they deny having any problems at all.
I honestly do not think the school administration could care any less for their students. I do not believe that they make an effort to reach out and make a difference, nor do they attempt to keep parents informed. However, the teachers (not administration) I've come in contact with, seem to be doing their jobs fairly well. It is disappointing that the 'professionals' who represent a school could do such a poor job. Time after time (with my experience) they have failed to make even a small effort to protect their student body. I would expect more out of a school; unfortunately, this one doesn't seem to have any expectations for itself.
