I love this school and my children do too! I have two children at Clear Creek currently one is in 2nd grade and the other is in kindergarten! I love Mrs. Watts and we also love Mrs. Green! There are several teachers we hear bad things about but OVERALL it is an AWESOME schoo!

I am a little dissapointed in some of the parent reviews, those claiming Mrs. Downs is never around or doesn't care about the students... that's not really fair, she had major surgery and was out for 6 weeks! Clear Creek is a great school, every staff member proudly considers every other staff member AND student to be family. We have students from all walks of life. Every child is an important person, their success and safety are more important than anything. In regards to previous reviews, please count your blessings if you have a warm home, clean clothes and plenty to eat, I am sad to have to say not all CCE students have those things, they are the top priority - but we love them all the same. Students who excell are kept challenged, those who struggle receive interventions, and test scores are up!

The teachers at Clear Creek are superb. The principal, not all administrators, is the only real deficiency.

I think their are many positive things at Clear Creek. While some have stated here that the administration isn't up to par, I think this is a very vague statement. Yes, we unfortunately do have administration problems as most in the community know, but on a whole the administration is good. Mrs. Page, Mrs. Tapp and Mrs. Overstreet all work to put our students first and have great relationships with the students and parents. We have some excellent programs, we have many seasoned teachers. Most have their Masters or are working on their Masters at the present time. We in fact have what I think to be a high number of Rank 1 teachers, which means a teacher with additional degrees. We have an excellent FMD program and parent envolvement is good. The school is one of the newest in Shelbyville and has some of the best teachers as well!

There are some great and caring teachers at Clear Creek. As a whole, Shelby County has some great Elementary schools. Ms. Page, the assistant principal, is well liked by kids and parents.

My child transfered to Clear Creek from Heritage a few years ago. Clear Creek isn't as good, but has some great teachers. Unfortunately there is too much favoritism.

Clear Creek is an awesome school!!! I love how the principal, Mrs. Downs attends the morning round up in the gym. I like the songs and committments that Mrs. Page and Mrs. Tapp teach the students. All of my kids have very caring teachers that keep me posted on their progress. I would recommend this school to anyone!

My child is in the fourth grade at Clear Creek. I have been amazed at her current teacher, Ms. Rigney, but I have found many things sorely lacking. Her current teacher is wonderful and will go over and above to help with anything needed. The principal, however, is never around and seems uninterested in the students and parents. I am also concerned about the healthiness of the schools breakfast and lunch.

Classes are challenging and interesting. My child loved Ms. Dale and Ms. Acklin. I must agree with others that the principal doesn't communicate well with parents.

My daughter is in Mrs. Siegel's first grade class . This is her first year in a public school. The transition was a little hard for her, but Mrs. Siegel has worked really hard with her & now she loves school. Mrs. Martin has worked really hard with her as well. I am amazed at the new things she is learning every day! Angela Denson

About the tests

Until 2010-2011, Kentucky used the Kentucky Core Content Tests (KCCT) to assess students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 through 12 in reading, social studies, science, writing, and math. The Elementary School results displayed on GreatSchools profiles are for grades 3 through 5 combined for each subject. Middle School results are for grades 6 though 8 combined, and High School results are for grades 10 though 12 combined. The KCCT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Kentucky. Beginning in 2011-2012, Kentucky switched to the K-PREP and EOC exams.
