my son has been written up for having to sharpen his pencil, for laughing to loud in hallway between classes, for not setting up straight in his desk, and for having to many books in his backpack. he has also been refused the right to wear an outback rodeo jacket (walker texas ranger style) simply because his teacher didnt like it. i have heard so many other horror stories from other children at this school. If the school has scored 3 out of 10 on state test scores changing jackets is the least of the worries. Sounds to me like teachers are spending way to much time in hallways trying to catch our children laughing or carrying to much in they're backpacks and not enough time minding there buisness.Maybe our kids are to good not enough fights or drugs in this little country school to keep them busy so lets give them detention for sharpening a pencil.Seriously tedachers their doing ok in behavior department. they're just not learning anything! I read some of the other comments posted on this site, the few positive ones that were posted looked an awful lot allike (with the highlighting and all) nevertheless I would have loved my school to if they hadn't bothered to teach me anything.SAD
I went to register my child. The Principal took the time to give us a tour. He gave our son a school t shirt. Everyone there was great. We can't wait to meet the teachers
it is so munch for a student to pay to go to daces
The communication is terrible. Teachers will not respond to phone calls or emails. There is very poor leadership within the extracurricular activities with exception of football. The coaches are not held accountable for their negative actions.
Parents, if your child has a learning disability or ADHD, and has been appointed an IEP (Individual Educational Program), do not send your child here. My child is in the 8th grade and has not had any help from an IEP for the past two years. He gets overwelmed and has trouble focusing, and the only place for him to go is 3-D (in-school suspension). He says that it is quiet and he can do his work and he gets the help that he needs, in there (3-D).My child feels he has to get into trouble, just to get his individual help. His IEP sets up goals for him, but where is his IEP when he needs them? I have asked for help several times, but nothing gets ever gets done. They say 'No Child Should Be Left Behind' My child has seemed to be forgotten.
i loved this school! the teachers were great! my favorite ones were mr.cox, mr. williams, mrs. kraus, ms. larue, and ms. pavolco.i am in eight grade year now and went to spencer county middle last year. it was the best school i ever went to! parents, if you were thinking of putting your kid/kids i that school, i recommend you do! i learned a lot!
I love this school. It is my bestestr experience that I had ever had of great friends and kind teachers that help out alot because they help.
Exploding, up-and-coming schools headed by a fantastic English-Language Arts department!
