Catholic High is an amazing school not just because it has an great academic program, great athletic program, amazing faculty, excellent disciplinary system, the teachers are friendly and hands on, students are allow to participate in student government, or a very diverse student and faculty body, but how all of these traits mesh together to create a school that is know through out the country as one of the best high schools there are.

First off, I pesonally agree with all remarks that catholic high harbors a wonderful academic enviroment however i must denouce their policies regarding the student themselves. A popular expression used with the catholichigh students is that the administration owns one's soul. I, with my firsthand expierience, will tell anyone who cares to listen that Catholic High isn't a wise choice. The high scchool years are meant for grades and social development. Meaning the domineering atmosphere at this school more than sometimes over steps its boundries taking liberties students and even the parents are entitled to have. Catholic High Im afraid will hold your teenagers hand and become their superego preventing them from making correct choices out of personal responsibility but instead through intimidation.

CHS has been more that we expected from a school. The caring and kind staff, faculty, and administration have helped my son grow from a boy to a fine young man. We are very pleased with this school and would highly recommend CHS to anyone.

I am a picky consumer of education, and I'm not from Baton Rouge so I didn't have a family connection to Catholic High, but I agree with other parents here who say it is the best school in Baton Rouge (St. Joseph's Academy doesn't come even close, though--girls here are at a terrible disadvantage). It has academic excellence as well as demanding standards for its students' behavior. If there is any weakness at all, it is in the drama area, but that's so minor that unless you have a son who is destined for the stage, Catholic High is the ultimate in town. Parents are extremely involved (some parents can be sort of pushy, but the administration treats everyone equally, so it's not hard to ignore the 'climbers'.) All in all, Catholic High is as good a high school for boys as you'll find.

Catholic High has been the best in education in Louisiana for over 100 years. A three-time National School of Excellence, CHS offers top-notch education, caring faculty, an excellent sports program, and extra-curricular programs which regularly rank among the highest in their areas. Along with it's sister school, the all-girls St. Joseph's Academy, these two schools are the best in Baton Rouge, as well as Louisiana.

Catholic High School in Baton Rouge is the best school in Baton Rouge for academics. This is an all boys school that excels in imparting moral values and promoting service to fellow human beings. Nothing matches the quality of education and the comraderie among its students. Teacher credentials are excellent. The administration accepts nothing less than the best from these boys and they get it because they respect them as future leaders and receive respect in return. The absolute Best Education to be found.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
