I was student of Saint Agnes Middle School for three years, sixth to eight grade. I do not really have anything nice to say about this school. For the three years I attended this school I was bullied on daily basis. Teachers saw it and did nothing about it. I went to school everyday in fear, wandering what was going to happen next. What made even worse was I even feared the teachers, they made it very clear to me that they did not care. I was told by a teacher that it was all my fault. I also remember how one teacher will spread other students private business to other students and even pass rumors about others student to the class. Their form of discipline was to humiliate students in front of all the others and to scream on top of their lungs at the student. They teach students that its not ok to make a mistake. If you did make a mistake you were humiliated. They would not teach you how to learn for your mistakes. For years because of this I ended up with low self worth. I've learned not to trust anyone. I did eventually work this out in therapy and moved on, but I will never bring a child to St. Agnes Middle School.

if you love your child and you want them to get a good education, DO NOT send them to St. Agnes. My son spent 3 years there (4-6) and we had a horrible experience. Principle is horrible. Extracurricular is terrible.

I was a student at St. Agnes from Pre-k to 7th grade and I can tell you from experience that this is an adequate school. My best years were at St.Agnes, it was very intimate experience and all of the teachers cared for me and my class's well being and learning. Teachers there make it a fun experience and we still learn a lot. What the school lacks in quantity of teachers, it makes up for in quality. I am currently in Rummel right now and there is not a day that goes by that I don't miss St. Agnes. Believe me, I know from experience how great this school is and if you are a parent thinking about sending your child there then know that if you do he/she will be in good hands and will leave with close friends and great memories, I guarantee it.

I don't know who wrote the post below, but I would like to add my comments. My child has been a student at St. Agnes School since pre k and is entering seventh grade. The principal is dedicated to the well-being of each individual student. She cares for the students and can be found before and well after the dismissal bell! She is devoted to the academic development of each student and disiplinary actions are taken care of as necessary. The staff is extemely well qualified and adheres to the curriculum set forth by the Louisiana Department of Education. I use Edline daily to view the school calendar, news items, and homework assignments. Grades in Edline are posted weekly by the teachers. The teachers have returned phone calls to me the same day that I have called. Many of the teachers have been at St. Agnes School for twenty plus years!

St. Agnes has deteriorated since Jack Truxillo successor took over as principal. The past four years has been a disaster. The school lacks leadership, discipline, and concern for the students education. The staff is up, down, and all over the place. They can not keep a steady staff. St Agnes use to be a great place to send your children but now its ridiculously out of control !! Don't be excited about Edline because grades are posted biweekly.Tring to get a teacher to respond to email is an 'Act of Congress'. Before/Aftercare teacher's assistant is great but she needs help. She has to see after the 1st through 8th graders. Kudos to her!!!!.She is one of the few original staff members who really care about the well being of the children.

The school is understaffed. The principal caters to the school board and does not discipline consistently.

St. Agnes is a very good school. I have 3 children in St.Agnes. 1 Has been there since pre k. Ones been there since 2nd grade and ones been there since 6th grade and this is her last year. There is some great teachers but there is one that has been a really good teacher even though he has been through a lot. He is still the best teacher any child could ask for and that teacher is the number one best middle school teacher ever. So thank you Mr.Caire you really make learning fun for the kids with your funny stories and your funny ways and just the way you teach. I know you must be a great teacher because my daughter is always coming home talking about you and filling us in.

My child has been at St. Agnes since Pre-K. I have seen teachers come and go but the school has always remained diligent about replacing them with an equally talented and educated teachers. The academics of St. Agnes has never been compromised by any of the teachers leaving. The academics as well as the extracurricular activities have improved over the years by the coming and going of the teachers; where one teacher left off the next one picked up and ran with it. I will be sad when the day comes that my child will graduate from St. Agnes School.

My son is in 2nd grade. I am extremely happy with his teacher. St. Agnes is a small, tight knit school that cares for each child. They know each child's name. They really care. I also know the school has had a little bit of problems in retaining teachers;it was resolved swiftly and commendably;nontheless the quality of teachers that remain is exemplary. I am proud of how the school is educating my child and I really beleive my son is receiving a fruitful education.

I really like my daughter's second grade teacher. Some consider her a little tough or expecting too much too soon but it really gives my daughter a challenge. I know she will be well prepared for next year. I am concerned about the teacher turn around. They seem to be losing teachers alot and it seems to be in the middle of the school year. They have hired new ones who are fresh out of school and I have been told that they are have difficulty controlling their classrooms.

This is our first year at St. Agnes, and I am glad I chose this school for my daughters. We have been accepted as part of the St. Agnes family.

Academically, this school provides a challenging environment for students in a heterogeneous setting. One problem, before and after school care not staffed adequately.

Great school that puts the children and their parents on a personal level with both the principal and teachers. The teachers always show genuine concern and loving care for the children. It gives me a wonderful feeling knowing my daughter is spending a great part of her time learning at St. Agnes School.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
