In a couple of weeks I will be going back to FHS. I will be entering 10th grade. Not only am I counting down the days to come back, I can't wait to enter the doors on the first day again. This school is by far a 10/10. I wish I could give it an 11/10! All the staff is friendly, and they truly care about each student. The special needs program is amazing, and we have a club called Bulldog Buddies to help them fit in. It's the most popular club we have. FHS has a wide variety of clubs for everyone. I truly love this school. Proud to be a Bulldog!! Class of 2017!

I graduated from FHS in 2005. Mr. Vitrano is a much better principal than the one before him. I have so many good memories from my days at FHS. Most of the teachers there are really helpful and really care if the students learn. The choir program is really good. I was in choir all four years and I loved it. The gifted and talented program is also really good. I always felt challenged and I loved doing the projects. I'm graduating from LSU in May and I really think that FHS did a great job preparing me for college!

This school is amazing! State GEE scores were published in the newspaper today - FHS was # 1 in St. Tammany parish. They attained the highest percentage of students that scored basic and above. More importantly, they had the highest number of students that scored adavnced and mastery in Math, English and Science. They came in a clsoe second in Social Studies. What impresses me the most about this achievement is that Fontainebleau has a very heterogenous student population. It draws from all socio-economic strata of the parish, not just the affluent areas. These scores indicate that they are committed to giving ALL their students the best education. They constantly raise expectations. For such a large school, the administration runs an efficient, disciplined and academically challenging school. WAY TO GO FHS! I AM SO PROUD TO BE A

I loved FHS. I went to a local Christian school in Covington and then transferred to FHS for my last two years of school. I felt the education, personal attention from teachers, extra help and attitude were all around better at Fontainebleau High. My only regret is the fact that my mom wasted so much money sending me to private school for my first two years of High school. I always felt safe at FHS and enjoyed the productive learning environment. I also feel like FHS does everything they can to help students prepare for college. I would recommend FHS and my children will definitely attend one day.

My first two years at a university has made me realize how fortunate I was to attend a school like Fontainebleau. When looking at my current peers, I see that many didn't quite have the same opportunities I had at Fontainebleau. FHS is a great school to attend and offers such a great overall educational experience.

I graduated from FHS in 2005 and began the following fall at UNO with two scholarships. Positive aspects of the school include a dynamic diversity you won't find at any other high school on the northshore-there is a club/group/organization/team for every student wishing to be involved. I also enjoyed the teachers' enthusiasm, but was unimpressed with their discipline which seemed biased towards jocks. I do have to complain about the layout...there is only one main hall and with 2000+ students and four-five minutes to stop at your locker and get to class...tardys are almost unavoidable...although still unfairly punishable. My advice-join a team and you'll get away with almost anything. Still a good school.

I have two children that have gone through this school and was extremely satisfied. They really focus on preparing students for college, and judging by my own kids, they more than succeed. It's really nice to see a school place such an emphasis on actually educating students rather than just padding test scores. Highly recommend this school!

After reading that previous review from another recent Fontainebleau graduate, I feel obligated to share my feelings about the school as well. I graduated last year, and I am currently a freshman at Louisiana State University. I feel completely grateful I got to attend FHS. The teachers were amazing and the number one priority was to prepare the students for life after high school (for most of us, that is college). I was more than prepared for my college studies. Not only was I prepared academically, but prepared in other ways as well. My experiences at FHS helped me to develop exceptional time management skills and work ethic that has been invaluable for me for my college life. The opportunities I had through all the extracurricular activities truly topped off a great experience at FHS. Challenging, caring, exciting, spirited...just a few of the words to describe the wonderful school FHS is.

I graduated from FHS 2 years ago and I believe that the offered me the best education I could receive on the Northshore. The teachers are excellent and really push the students to excel. My younger brother and sister still attend FHS and although they say that the principle has made things a little more strict around campus, they still enjoy going to the school. FHS offers a well rounded education with extra-curricular activities ranging from the yearbook, chess club, National Honor Society, Golf team, Football, etc.... Attending FHS was one of the greatest chapters of my life, and I will always hold the school near to my heart!

I've been pretty pleased with this school and my son has been happy with it as well. He has grown into a very mature and intelligent young adult. It is a large school but at least no one will be shocked when they end up going to a large college. Most of my son's teachers seem very nice and I have not had any problems with any of them.

This is an excellent school with great teachers and hard working administrators. It is obvious that the staff's number one priority is student success. Discipline is enforced and the school is kept up well. Despite the school being so large, it has a small school feel with many classes kept small. The curriculum is challenging, especially the honors and AP curriculum, and is known to surpass many private/catholic schools. The school also has many successful extracurricular programs and my children all love Fontainebleau. I also try to get involved with the school as much as I can, something that seems to be always encouraged and many parents do volunteer (which makes a difference in our children's education). The community support is also unbelievable. GO BULLDOGS!

As a parent, I have to say I have had no regrets sending my children to this school. When I moved to Louisiana, I was concerned about the education of my children, mainly because Louisiana is definitely not known for its educational opportunities. However, I did my research and Fontainebleau was one of the few schools I found that seemed to perform very high, besided it being located in an area I wanted to move to. Well I asked around about fhs (realtors, parents, etc.) and found nothing but positive comments. After almost 2 years of my children attending the school, I have had no complaints. My children love it as well. The teachers are caring, the curriculum is challenging, and the staff does a stupendous job of running a great school. The school spirit is also tremedous! Not just a five star school to me, but a perfect 10!

Absolutely worthless school, teachers enjoy acting in extremely stubborn attitudes and the foreign language department is beyond any measurable method to show its failure. Maybe if the teachers actually decided to use their brains more people would pass those classes and possibly maybe even learn the language. Oh well, not a perfect world eh? The school is haunted by a god awful layout, I mean it sure is really smart to just make one gigantic hallway so that you have one huge chokepoint and blockage to the max. Restroom facilities should have biohazard signs painted on the door, and it seems the only place that is physically cared for is the teacher's lounge. Most books in horrid condition, and surprisingly stupid and absurdly broken classes, like Career Orientation (which I might add is very useful for a freshman to take -_-)... And more, can't fit the rest.

After hurricane Katrina, my family had to relocate in Mandeville in St. Tammany Parish. My daughter began at Fountainbleau and has had a great experience making many new friends. It seems to be popular opinion amongst people who have relocated here due to the storm that the Mandeville kids are snobby and rude, but I can tell you that really isn't true. When my daughter heard that she actually laughed and found that comment quite ridiculous. She told me there are a few 'snobs' but most people have been sincerely welcoming of her at fhs. She loves her teachers. She has told me that they are enthusiastic about teaching and truly want to see the kids learn, something not as common at the school my daughter was previously attending on the southshore. She has had a great experience and seems to be learning a lot.

I have had two children graduate from Fountainbleau in recent years and both have told me they feel the school did a great job to prepare them for college. One of them had a 3.8 in honors and AP classes and now maintains a 4.0 in college. The other was in on level classes and had 3.0 now is making around a 3.5 at LSU. My children made a 32(AP student) and a 27 (on level student) on the ACT. I have another child going to FHS next year and I am excited to be a bulldog mom again. This school is a superb school!

This school has been a very good school for my children. However, if your child is just an average performer and cannot handle the honors or AP classes the education is not as good. The on level classes have such a range of kids that it makes it difficult for the teacher to cover as much as the high level course.

I began at FHS the first year it opened in 1994. There were no seniors at that time, so no one was making fun of the lower classmen. The attitude that each and every student is special remained throughout my final year there, and upon speaking w/ current students, it is still the same way. I was also very well prepared for my college studies. The staff at fhs was always there to help you learn and understand, and i count my blessings that i was able to attend and graduate from fontainebleau high school.

I love going to this school! The new principle has done a great job in his first year, including boosting school spirit and pride tremendously. Coming from a well-respected private school, I thought public school would be easy, but I have been constantly challenged here at Fontainebleau. Discipline is well-maintained and students get along pretty well. Although it is a large school and not every single teacher is going to be good, most teachers are great and care about the success of the students. I had a friend who started to slip in school and his teachers made sure he got back on track and informed his parents. There are many activities and the sports and music programs are great and have had much success. The school seems to have come a long way since it opened in '94 and seems to get better and better each year. I love it!

Fontainebleau High School is a wonderful school where there is high parent involvement, a high concentration of students who are willing to learn and perform high, and an amazing faculty. This school offers many extracurricular activities and many of the students are very well-rounded. There are many acclaimed private/catholic schools whose curriculums are not even on par with Fontainebleau's. They have teachers that really want to see the students pass and do well and they care about every one of them. It is very easy to make friends at FHS because everyone is so friendly and I have never really seen anyone get made fun of..everyone is friends with everybody there. People never get judged and you feel welcome your first day there. With our new principal this year, things have really gotten better because he is involved with the school and really cares about all the students. He also has a lot of school spirit! I graduated from Fontainebleau High School in May of 2000. I can say with certainty that FHS provided me with a top notch education and prepared me very well for college and professional life. In May of 2004 I graduated from the University of New Orleans among the top 15% of my class. I am currently in my first year pursuing an M.D. at the West Virginia University School of Medicine. My journey into the medical profession began my senior year at FHS with the help of Ms. Marshall, an exceptional Medical Terminology teacher. She was a tough teacher but managed to pique my interest in the field of medicine, an interest that continued into college and professional school. FHS is undoubtedly among the best public schools in the state of Louisiana, and those who are lucky enough to attend will be given a quality education and excellent career preparedness.

This will be my fourth year at Fontianebleau High, and I must say that the school as a whole, is the best you will find for Louisianna Public Schools. Although some teachers arn't as passionate as others, most teachers want to see students succed. The Gifted programs are completely awesome!! All of the Gifted Teachers truly care about a student's success, want to see students expanding thier minds, and are very willing to dedicate time outside of school hours. The AP program is also very very good! In on-level classes it is easier to find teachers that are bogged down with too many students, but the schoolboard is highering new and qualified faculy, and this problem will be sloved shortly. I have grown to love FHS and, with our new principle, things are changing for the better! I am excited to see where this school will go!

Both of my children are at FHS and feel it is a very good school where they will be prepared for college. Parents are encouraged to get involved. The PTA is very active and parent volunteers make a differece. My children enjoy FHS and are active in different extracurricular activities. In 2004-2005 school we got a new principal and looking forward to a great year. Only negative is the over crowding, there are 2000+ students and number grows all the time. I must say we do not a problem with fights like I hear from other large schools. This is a safe place for our children.

St. Tammany Parish is the top school district in Louisiana, which isn't saying much since Louisiana is such a low educational state. However, St. Tammant Parish is becoming one of the best in the nation which is saying a lot. And Fontainebleau High has scored the highest overall Graduate Exit Exam scores this past year and they continues to rise. Parents love sending their kids there because they know they are getting a top rate education. Many of the kids also love it, despite some of the tough curriculum. Some people might complain that they only prepare pupils for standardized testing, but they do that and prepare them for college and/or the real world. Teachers and staff care about all students. The school not only has a top curriculum, but also numerous activities, service organizations, state-known athletics program and music program, and high parental involvement. What a stupendous school! Go Bulldogs!

FHS, is an 'okay' school. I have been going there for two years now. They concentrate mostly on standardize testing mostly, mainly the english department. The science department is wonderful, we have quite a few labs that allows students to get a hands on experience. The math department is rather nice because the math teachers are all close and have many different teaching methods they use to make sure every student comprehends. We have some outstanding teachers that are passionate about what they teach, but we also have a few blemishes which according to Louisiana law can not be fired because of being a member of that school for so long. But all in all, FHS is an okay place to learn. It has many ups and downs. But I have grown to love it.

All the teachers I had really showed interest in their students. Some I visit to this day and keep them updated about my kids and husband.
